Chapter 26: Back from the dead


    Aleera''s POV


    James had started to drag him away but stopped when I had screamed out.


    I was standing on the steps that led into the house looking in the direction where Darius was, both


    James and Darius were looking at me. I was in total shock and tears were still running down my


    cheeks.


    "Baby, do you know him?" Darius asked me.


    I did not answer him back in words only nodded my head. I started to walk closer to them at a slow


    pace. As I got closer and closer Darius stopped me by standing in front of me stopping me from getting


    too close.


    "Then who is he?" He asked me looking down at me as I looked up into his brown eyes.


    "He is my younger brother, Angelo Hawks. But he has been dead since I was ten, he was murder


    together with our mother." I said back in a shaky voice


    "Brother?" Darius asked back. He was shocked to hear it too.


    Darius pulled me closer to him so he could hold me. I was now looking down at my brother afraid that if


    I looked away he would disappear.


    "How can you possibly be alive after six years?" I asked Angelo. I was relieved to find out that my best


    friend and brother were still alive.


    "Did you really believe that I was dead this whole time?" He answered me back with a narcissistic


    voice. He clearly did not care that I believed that he was dead all these years.


    "You were murdered with our mother!" I screamed at him. I took one breath and continued.


    "I have mourned you and mother for years. How can you be so cold?" I asked with a shaky voice. I


    could not take this so I leaned into Darius and he held me tighter while I cried hiding my face against


    his bare chest.


    "So what if you mourned us. Like I care." He snapped back.


    "But if you are alive then your mother must be too, right?" Darius asked Angelo


    "No she is dead, but she was not murdered by rogues as everyone let you believe." He answered back.


    That caught my attention. She was not murdered by rogues and that I was let to believe it, what the hell


    is going on and who killed our mother?


    "Then tell me how she died." I said to Angelo while staring him right in his eyes.


    "She was killed by our own father." He said back.


    Those words hit me hard. I was beginning to see stars in my view and I could not find the strength to


    stand any longer. Darius was able to catch me before I fell to the ground. He picked me up bridal style


    and I leaned into him, it helped me enough so that I could continue.


    "But why did he kill her?" I asked when I found just enough strength.


    "Because she was in his way to getting what he wanted."


    "And what does he want?" Darius asked back. He was now frustrated and done with this game.


    "He wants to be feared by everyone and be the greatest and most powerful alpha that has walked this


    earth." Angelo said back to Darius in a mean tone.


    "Then why has everyone let Aleera believe that you were dead. and let her suffer so much as she has


    done these past years?" James asked.


    Angelo looked over at James and he had a big grin on his face as he answered.


    "She is the first born and a girl. She can''t take over the alpha title when it was supposed to be mine


    from the beginning. So I told our father to lock her up and to let the other have fun with her."


    How could he do this to his own big sister? Did he hate her so much and is a power-hungry maniac?


    Darius was the first one to break to silence


    "Take him to the dungeon!"


    Darius was walking away from the spot we were in and set me down on the steps in front of the house.


    I stared straight ahead, my vision was blurry. I can''t believe what I just heard.


    "Baby are you okay? Your skin is pale and your eyes are nk."


    I ignored him, I couldn’t take all this in, it was just too much for me. How could everyone have lied to


    me all these years? Why tell me that both my mother and brother were murdered by rouge''s when it


    was clearly a lie. And what have I ever done to Angelo to hate me so much?


    I felt an aching pain in my heart, it hurt so much to find out that my own family hated me so much. I


    could see a shadow moving closer to me and then it was right in front of me but my vision was still


    blurry but I was able to recognize the voice.


    "My love,e let''s go back inside." He said to me. He was worried, I could tell it by his voice


    I did not trust my own voice to speak, I just nodded my head. Darius lifted me up again in bridal style


    and carried me up to my room and sat me down on my bed. I was still in shock, I just stared in front of


    me. Something was ced under my cheekbone and then my head was moving up till my blurry eyes


    met his and my eyes let go of all the tears that blurred my vision.

    "My love, it hurts my heart to see you like this. Just know that I’m here for you." He said still worried but


    I was still not able to answer him.


    "My darling, please stay here, I will be right back. I’ll go and take care of your brother and make him


    pay for what he has done to you." He growled in anger as he got from his to turn around to leave but I


    grabbed hold of his arm, stopping him from leaving me alone.


    "Don''t go." I said to him in a shaky voice.


    He turned his head around to look at me and he got back down on his knees in front of me.


    "Darling, you know that I would love to stay here with you, but I need to find out from your brother if the


    Moonlit pack will attack again and try to get you back. I need to make sure that you will be safe." He


    said back and got up from his position once again and leaned down to capture my lips in a powerful


    kiss before he turned around and left me alone in my room.


    I got up from my bed and walked out to our balcony to get some fresh air and clear my mind. It was


    then I heard a distant voice far away.


    "This is only the beginning of the way for you to find out the truth. Trust the people you have around


    you. You are not alone."


    The voice faded away after that,


    Was that Selene? And what did she mean by it is only the beginning?


    I decided to ignore what the voice just said to me as I had no time for riddles. I pushed it out of my mind


    when I felt something strange happening to me. First I only felt a little bit shaky but then I got more and


    more shakier. What is going on? Then the first bone broke and my body fell onto the balcony floor. I let


    out a scream and when the second bone broke I screamed out so hard that I passed out from the


    pain.
