Wilbur nodded, and Augheimer turned to walk into the portal. The guards activated the portal right after that, and a white light shed through the air. Augheimer was nowhere to be seen following that.


    Edmund sighed. "Augheimer''s still far too cocky for his own good. It''s probably for the best that he left Buck Town. That''s one less burden for me to worry about."


    He turned to leave after that, and Wilbur stared after him wordlessly. He had thought that Edmund was a good man back when Hadirt wanted to massacre all of Buck Town—only to find out that Edmund had been the one who sent Conrad to tell Hadirt that Dalton had been murdered.


    That was what had drawn Hadirt to Buck Town.


    Edmund had pretty much tried to use Hadirt to get rid of Wilbur, not wanting to co- rule Buck Town with him.


    Now that Wilbur knew how two-faced Edmund was, he no longer wanted too much to do with him if he had the choice. Had he not wanted to cultivate the Yellow Dragon Spell and needed to absorb the Yellow Dragon energy aura, Wilbur would have left Buck Town already.


    Upon returning to the City Lord''s quarters, Edmund heaved a sigh of relief. "Thank god Augheimer finally left town. If he were to team up with Wilbur, they would have taken my position of City Lord away from me."


    "There''s one more piece of good news, Lord Edmund."


    "Oh? What is it?"


    "Augheimer took the portal to Tevinter, the seventh town. Tevinter may have a new City Lord now, but Hadirt had been very powerful, and many cultivators had been wronged by him. Because of that, there''s been bloodshed in Tevinter every single day. Augheimer''s going to have a terrible time there. Besides, he''s also a friend of Wilbur''s and took part in the battle where Hadirt ended up dead. He''s going to be hunted down the second he gets to Tevinter Town. As powerful as he is, I''m certain that he''ll be killed by the cultivators of Tevinter in just three days. All you have to do is just wait, Lord Edmund."


    "Ha, wonderful! You''re right, Augheimer does deserve to die, but I''m not letting Wilbur go, either. The other City Lords are already feeling threatened by his action of killing Hadirt. They all think he has to die. None of them wants an outsider to be City Lord. Wilbur''s definitely powerful enough to be a City Lord. The other seven City Lords sent me a personal letter telling me to get rid of Wilbur."


    "Do you have any ideas on how you''re going to do it, Lord Edmund?"


    "Tell Conrad to see me."


    "Yes, Lord Edmund."


    The guard headed to the Albert family grounds. An hourter, Conrad bowed to Edmund. "Conrad at your service, Lord Edmund."


    "At ease. Let me ask you, Conrad, is your Tricorpse Venom Pill done?"


    Conrad nodded. "The venom pills are around ny percent done. They''ll be Tricorpse Venom pills in just seven days."


    "I heard that your Tricorpse Venom Pills are powerful enough to break a Senior Guard with eight thousand years of cultivation, causing him to be killed. Can I know what''s so special about those pills?"


    Conrad smiled at the question. "Let me exin it to you, Lord Edmund. There are three special traits of the Tricorpse Venom Pills. One: they''re colorless and odorless. Two: upon consumption, they don''t enter one''s blood. Thus, they cannot be traced. Three: the victim will not know they''ve been poisoned. The pill will destroy the foundations of the consumer''s cultivation without them even being aware of it. Once the cultivation''s foundations have been destroyed, the cultivator cannot remain in the middle dimensions for long."


    "Is that so?" asked Edmund. "Can you tell me how the pill achieves that?"
