Chapter 2802

"I know I messed up, I really do. I admit defeat. I''ll leave Buck Town by tonight."

Wilbur frowned at Augheimer. "Where are you going?"

Augheimer smiled. "Tevinter Town, the seventh town."

    "What? Why?"

"No reason. I just don''t want to owe you too much."

    "What?"

"Don''t get me wrong! I just want to be somewhere I can improve quickly."

Wilbur looked into the distance, falling silent. "I hope you grow stronger, then."

Augheimer looked at Wilbur before saying, "Are we still friends, then?"

"Of course? You''ll always be my old pal."

    "Thank you."

Augheimer put out a hand, and Wilbur shook it as the two men exchanged a smile.

That night, Wilbur finally saw the old Augheimer again. They chatted happily, walking along the Buck Town square to the portal.

"Alright, you don''t have to walk me all the way there."

    "Alright, then. Best of luck."

Wilbur and Augheimer grinned at each other, and Augheimer turned to leave. All of a sudden, a shout sounded from the distance.

    "Hang on!"

The two men turned to see Edmund running over frantically. Augheimer turned away, and Wilbur asked, "Is something the matter, Lord Edmund?"

Edmund had thought ofing to see Augheimer in hopes of getting on his good side for the future so that he would have another elite on his team.

Yet upon seeing the look of disdain on Augheimer''s face, Edmund red up in fury and demanded, "What''s the meaning of this, Augheimer? Why do you look like that when I''vee to see you off? Do you not respect me as the City Lord at all?"

Augheimer and Wilbur exchanged nces. Not wanting Wilbur to feel awkward, Augheimer said, "You''re overthinking, Lord Edmund. I''m delighted to have you see me off today, but I''m pretty sure you''ve forgotten who wanted me out of Buck Town in the first ce. Surely you can''t expect me to kneel to a City Lord who tried to kick me out?"

    "How dare you!"

Augheimer''s words made Edmund''s chest sink. He had thought thating to send Augheimer off would change his mind about Edmund, only for this to happen.

Wilbur chuckled to himself. It was so obvious what Augheimer was doing. Wilbur knew that Augheimer was a cunning, scheming man who was also ruthless in his ways. That was a terriblebination that would end up offending all parties, and it made sense that Augheimer did not ept his gesture.

"Well, I''m going to be on my way if there''s nothing else you need here."

    "Okay."
