Upon saying so, Enoff hung up the call and took out another phone to dial another number.
"Boss, there''s been a little change here! The guy you''re after doesn''t seem to be so easily controlled."
Enoff told the other person on the line everything that happened. There was a brief silence before a sultry voice rang through the phone.
"Don''t worry, Enoff. Since our friend doesn''t like these methods, we''ll switch to one he likes. You can pay him a visit tomorrow and try to see if there''s anything else he might be interested in aside from the two girls! I just hope there''s at least something, regardless of how big it is. As for Derkley... we''ll just allow him to live for a few more days!"
The call ended after that, and Enoff quickly returned to the house on the ntation once it was dark.
The next day, Wilbur came to the canteen on the first floor of the hotel, ordering some food for himself and sitting down at a table.
All of a sudden, a man in a coat and a scarf wrapped around all of his head except his eyes sat down across Wilbur before taking out a flower and handing it to him.
Wilbur nced at the flower and the noticeableck of food in front of the man, and guessed at once that he was the person who sent the young man!
"I can''t believe you got a little girl to spy on me for you. I guess I underestimated you! I wonder if you''re ready to discuss a proper agreement today, or if you''re nning to ckmail me in a different way?"
Despite exposing the man, Wilbur remained calm as ever as he ate his breakfast.
"Some things aren''t what they seem, sir. The little girl''s name is Leia. Her entire family died in a tragedy save for her mother, who is now paralyzed. Leia and her mother only have each other. Who''s going to help both of them if Leia doesn''te out to work? Are we supposed to ask the bastard Derkley to help us out?"
The man seemed to realize that he had spoken out of line here, clearing his throat before he continued, "Sir, using you to kill him was ourst resort. Besides, Derkley is a monster with the blood of a thousand people on his hands! We might not have used the most honest ways to get your attention, but I promise you our hearts are in the right ce. I''m here in response to your invitation yesterday, and I''d like to ask you what we have to do to get you to help us out. We''re open to hearing out any conditions, and we''ll do our best to satisfy them!" said the man before leaning back to wait for a response.
Wilbur, on the other hand, grew a mild interest in the words ''any conditions''. "Are Lacey and Eliana still alive?
"Very much so!"
"You guys were the ones who saved them from Rabbick?"
"Indeed! If we hadn''t done that, they''d have met their demise in the most unthinkable ways possible. You must know that Mondorra''s known for his cruel and ruthless ways!"
