Chapter 1561

It was as if a feral beast had torn through the bodies, ripping them apart to feast

    on.

Senior forensics technician Esha Omah entered the scene with her gloves on, fighting the urge to throw up.

Despite the fact that she was in her twenties, she had been in a good number of cases and had been surprisingly good at holding her guts together at the sight of gory scenes.

There had been zero leads on who had done this, which Esha was furious about.

How could there not be a single trace of the killer with so many deaths? This made no sense from a scientific point of view.

Esha inspected everyst inch of the scene, doing her best to find any clues at all.

The special forces agents arrived then, sealing the scene off as Pembroke and Wilbur headed toward the scene.

Senior detective Mikael Waller described what happened to the both of them, before leading both men towards the bodies.

Pembroke was in utter shock upon seeing them, having never witnessed something as gruesome as this before.

Wilbur furrowed his brows as well. These deaths were truly horrific.

He walked up to one of the bodies and inspected it closely.

All of a sudden, Esha shouted, "What are you doing? Stay away from the crime scene!"

Wilbur looked up. Esha looked to be in her twenties, radiating an air of authority as she stood tall and proud in her uniform.

Pembroke said at once, "This is a friend of mine. He''s here to help."

The identity of a member of the Department of Paranormal Research and Defense had to be kept a secret, and Pembroke could only say as much.

Yet Esha was having none of it. "This is a crime scene! You can''t just let anyone in here, can you? You''re a senior agent of the special forces yourself, aren''t you? You should know the rules."

Esha had quite a temper and did not care the slightest about stepping on anyone''s toes.

Mikael said at once, "Esha, his Captain Wells'' friend. Don''t be rash."

Pembroke was quite a powerful figure and held a higher position than Mikael himself.

Despite Mikael being a detective, he knew that power made a difference and could not afford to offend anyone.

Esha clearly did not feel the same. "Anyone unrted to the case is not allowed on the scene. That''s thew, and the special forces are just here to maintain order. Plus, you said yourself that he''s just a friend of Captain Wells. What don''t you understand about that?"

Her words made Mikael flush in embarrassment.

However, he could not break the rules to tell Esha off either. She was not wrong, and all Mikael could do was smile awkwardly.

Wilbur shrugged, turning to leave the scene.

Pembroke was furious at Esha but knew that there was nothing he could do and merely smiled apologetically at Wilbur.

Wilbur smiled back, waving a hand.

Esha continued the inspection with her team.

Yet another hour ticked by, and there were still zero leads.

All of a sudden, Wilbur spoke up. "This is a paranormal incident. You can''t solve it as detectives."

"What did you just say?" Esha turned to Wilbur.

"This wasn''t done by a regr person. You don''t have the skills to solve this case."

    Esha''s expression darkened at once.

She marched up to Wilbur until they were barely inches apart from each other. "Oh, really? Please tell me what did this, and who are you to be deducing such a thing?"

"I''m not too sure yet and will need to search further. But what I can tell you in certainty is that this was not done by a human being," said Wilbur.

Esha snorted in disdain at once. "You''re a con artist, aren''t you? We''re living in the twenty-first century, crying out loud. You too, Captain Wells! What are you even doing hanging around people like this? You''re just embarrassing yourself!"
