    The blob of flesh exploded on its own, shooting into the heavens like fireworks before bursting into a million sparks that began tond all over Millerton.


    Wilbur made a choice then and there.


    Hended on the ground and then cast a shield of light that protected the areas within a hundred meters all around him.


    The gray sparks fell, scattering themselves on several hundred thousand Millerton citizens.


    They froze on the spot as if put under a spell.


    Only the people within Wilbur''s light shield were unaffected, but they got a shock from the sight before them as well.


    The people outside the protection of the shield were frozen like zombies, and Millerton fell abruptly silent.


    The harsh contrast seemed to fill Sandy, Lilian, and the other clear-headed people with a strange sense of terror.


    They did not know what happened, or why it was happening, and the unknown was always the scariest.


    Wilbur watched them coldly, his expression solemn.


    Through his spirit energy, he found that the souls of these people were zed over with an unknown energy.

    "What''s this? What have you done now?" Lilian asked Wilbur, enraged.


    Wilbur finally shouted back, "Can''t you see that Kolton and the others caused all of this? They''re trying to control you!"


    "Why would our elders want to control us?" Sandy retorted.


    The people around them looked at Wilbur suspiciously as well.


    Wilbur shook his head. "You still won''t believe it, huh? Pumido is a cult, and these elders of yours aren''t even human! How much longer are you going to remain foolish for?"


    "What are you saying? How could this be possible?" Lilian screamed.


    Wilbur watched her coldly. "Do you think a human being would be able to summon the creatures your elders just did or morph into something so terrifying?"


    "What creatures?" Lilian, Sandy, and the others looked nothing but confused. Wilbur hardly knew what to say. Had these people not seen the battle just now? Or... had theypletely lost their memories altogether?


    Just then, the hundreds of thousands of people began to move all of a sudden.


    They let out a long sigh in unison as if waking up from a deep sleep.


    Their eyes turned bloodshot as drool dribbled out of their mouths. They eyed each other hungrily as if they had been starved for years.


    "Look around you, idiots!" Wilbur could not help but shout.

    The people outside the protection of the light shield began to let out low growls, eyeing each other murderously as their drool dripped onto the ground.


    Atst, Sandy and the others began to panic.


    These people seemed like they were ready to feast on each other, and they looked terrifying.
