Five yearster
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!" Beth angry screamed making me leave what I was doing and rushed to her her
room.
"What happened? Its okay. Calm down. What''s wrong?" I asked.
"Mike malz just followed me on Instagram" she said and scowls making me raise an eyebrow and then
she shook her head and sighs.
"You know we were bff''s when I was little even after what happened but during middle school,
everything changed. We stopped hanging out and now we''re in high school, he doesn''t even
acknowledge me again so now, I hate him and now, he followed me on Instagram!!!" She says in one
breath and starts panting. I bring her inhaler and she uses it to calm down.
"Well, you know you could just block him right now." I told her and her face lit up but then it turned to a
frown.
"What now?"
"I can''t block him"
"Why?" I say and sigh.
"Because, I need followers." She says and I roll my eyes at her. Kids these days. Yeah, like you weren''t
worse than this. Beth was a teenager now and was on the summer holidays resuming the next
semester as a senior and I was still working in Ryder enterprises even after what happened. I guess it
was his revenge. I haven''t seen or talked to Taylor for the past few years and thest time we spoke to
each other, we almost got admitted to the hospital. Yeah, it was a pretty good fight. Michelle was still
angry at me for what happened but then I cried my eyes out and apologized to her and she forgave me.

"Beth, make sure to always be with your inhaler and do not open the door for strangers okay?" I told
her which made her roll her eyes.
"I''m not a kid Mia. I can take care of myself. Now, get to work before you gette" she ordered. I have
been more protective of her since the threat from Ashley but after all these years, she hasn''t caused
any harm in fact, I heard she moved to California. I was really happy when I heard that. I hailed a cab

"Hey Mia" she greeted also and I left to my office. I reached the office and saw Scott was already there.
"Good morning sir" I greeted, my voice t. That was how I''d been greeting him for the past five years. I
felt disgusted by him. He made me hate him but still love him at the same time. I regret it. Those words

"Miss Emilia, did you hear any word I just said?" Scott said bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Sorry, please what did you say?" I asked again.
"I said there won''t be any work on Friday as it is valentine day." He said.
"Oh okay" I was kind of happy even if I had no one to spend it with. You have Beth. Yes, I have Beth
but you know.... I was happy because I had a secret admirer. He always Sends me gifts every valentine
and Christmas. I was really happy and couldn''t wait.
"Are you doing anything for valentine?" Scott said bringing me out of my thoughts.
"No, I don''t think so." I said and shake my head.
"Uhm, would you uh, like to go for a I don''t know maybe....dinner on valentine?" He asked nervously
scratching the back of his neck and I just stared at him and then the staring changed to a re.

"Hey aunty Mia" he greeted with a heartwarming smile and I also smiled back.
"Hello mike. Is your mum around?" I asked.
"Yeah, she is. Mum! Aunty Mia''s here" he yelled and opened the door more so I coulde in. I saw
Michelleing down the stairs still looking beautiful as always. She gave me her beautiful smile.
"Hey Mia, how you doing? Get over here girl. Its been forever." she says and then I hugged her.
"Hey Michelle what''s up?" I said and she shrugged.
"Nothing much just nning my husband''s birthday." she says and I nodded. She knew about the
incident with Scott and insulted him for like an hour on the phone. I was going to tell how about the
dinner Scott offered.
"So, what''s going to be the you know, big surprise?" I asked.
"Oh that, well its a private stuff if you know what I mean" she says and winks at me and I just shake my
head. Typical Michelle.
"So, what can I help you with?" I asked and she gave me her ''you see'' look. Sheughs nervously.
"Well, you see, there isn''t any work actually. I just wanted you toe you know. Its been like forever"
she says with her sad face and I hugged her. I was feeling bad because it has actually been long since
we hung out. I had always been working and anytime I was free, she was working.
"I''m sorry I haven''t been spending time with you" I apologize.
"Its cool. So.....are you okay?" She says and I give her a sigh.
"Spill" she adds.
"Scott asked me out" I say and she widens her eyes and smile.
"He did?" She asks and I nodded.
"Oh my God. That''s so nice" she says and put her hand on her chest.
"Nice?" I say confused.
"Yes, it is" she says.
"If I can recall, thest time we spoke, you insulted him for like an hour" I tell her.
"Its about time you forgive him Mia" she says, her voice softened. I blinked back the tears that were
threatening toe out.
"Forgive? No. No. No way am I forgiving a guy who I was and still in love with who just used me to
satisfy his sexual needs. Nope. Nada. I am not" I say and shake my head. She gives me a sympathetic
smile.
"You still love him. Mia, that''s why you can''t live with this hatred inside you. I know you don''t show it out
but that''s more dangerous Mia. It can eat you alive and once you push everyone away, one day you will
wake up and realize you have no one. Mia, you have to let go of this hatred growing inside of you." she
advices and then a tear escapes.

"I know, it was too bad. It was heartless but Mia, give him another chance. I''m not telling you to date
him, I''m just saying you should give him another chance. Who knows, he might change for the better.
Go on this dinner with him okay?" She says again and I nod my head.
"Okay. Okay, I''ll give him a chance but if he takes it for granted, that''s all" I tell her and she nods her
head grinning.
"Fine. Fine with me. Now, leave my house. My husband would be back soon and I don''t want him
getting angry with me. Mike is having a sleepover at his friend''s. Could''ve brought him to your ce but
you know...Beth and Eric so... Yeah. We have the whole ce to ourselves" she says and winks. I bid
her goodbye and leave her house. I go home and find Beth on the sofa eating a slid of pizza and
watching gossip girl. Typical teenage girl. O was happy she could live the normal teenage girl life. The
life I couldn''t live because of my father. I grinned mischievously. I put my hand around her neck and she
tensed up.
"Theo James or Bradley cooper?" I said grinning and I could also see her grinning.
"Theo James for life" she said and turned to face me.
"You scared me" she says.
"Sorry" I apologized and she nodded her head telling me to I was forgiven. Anytime she got scared,
she always had asthma attacks. I bid her goodnight and slept off thinking if giving Scott another chance
would be a good idea and thing.
