He was wearing a ck dress shirt underneath, the fabric hinting at the toned muscles of his abdomen.
Then, Sebastian stood up and sat down next to her, a wave of masculine energy washing over her.
He undid the top two buttons of his shirt, creating a look that was both restrained and wild.
Sensing his presence so close, Natalie felt a pang of insecurity.
She hugged the baby tighter and shifted away.
"Why are you so close? It feels weird," she said, her tone a little unnatural.
Sebastian had always had a powerful, manding presence. He tilted his head slightly, his gaze cold. "You want me to go see another woman?"
Natalie replied calmly, "It''s not what I want. It''s that we''ll have nothing to do with each other soon. Who you see is your business."
"Natalie," he said, his voice sharp.
Natalie silently scooted a little further away. She was holding a baby and couldn''t risk the child getting hurt because of her.
Sebastian watched her movement and a faint smile appeared on his lips. "That scared of me?"
"Scared? Of course I am. You''re terrifying when you lose your temper."
Natalie''s beautiful eyes were full of caution. After all, Sebastian was capable of hitting people.
To put it bluntly, he wasn''t a good person. When his temper red, he had no problem hitting a woman.
Sebastian let out an exasperatedugh. He was handsome when he smiled. If she could forget all the ways he''d wronged her, his smile was actually quiteforting.
"I hit you in a fit of rage, but I let you hit me back. If you''re still not satisfied, you can hit me a few more times."
Natalie shook her head. "I''m not one to start fights. There''s no point in hitting you now. We''re not even going to be together anymore, so why would I?"
Sebastian took a deep breath. Every word out of Natalie''s mouth was a reminder that she was leaving.
"Natalie, don''t talk about leaving again. You promised me we''d divorce after a year."
"I promised to divorce you after a year because I knew you''d never agree to it otherwise. Now that you''ve agreed, the year will fly by. So what''s wrong with me keeping my distance?"
Natalie felt he had changed. He used to disappear for months at a time, but since she left, she saw him almost every day.
What was the logic in that?
It just made her ufortable every single day.
Sebastian frowned, wishing he could just lock her by his side so she could never leave.
"I don''t hit women. That time, your words provoked me. And with the bodyguards, all the evidence pointed to you, but I didn''t do anything to you. I just scared you a little."
"Hah!" Natalieughed in frustration. "Why bring up the past? Thinking about it just makes me furious. Sebastian, I need you to understand something. The problem was the bodyguards hitting me. The problem was you. As your wife, you never gave me the respect I deserved. You only wanted me to pay a price."
"When others bullied me, when the Scotts insulted me, you joined them. I will never go back. That includes the Scott family. Even if they''re my blood rtives, I can never forgive them."
"You know Jerome''s leg? If I had intervened, he wouldn''t be disabled. I warned him not topete, but he did me. He thought Joanna was his precious little sister who would never hurt him. And in the end, he was crippled."
"You''re just like them. Just because you''ve changed a little doesn''t mean I''ll forgive you. If you understand, then leave."
Natalie pointed to the door. She had to stay calm. Don''t get angry. She needed to stay calm for the baby''s sake. Sebastian just didn''t have a shred of self-awareness.
