Seeing the grief on her face, Sebastian pressed his lips together. This was one of the few peaceful moments they''d shared since she left.
But Joanna''s shadow loomed over everything.
Perhaps there was truly no going back for them.
Still, he selfishly wanted to wait one more year.
After a year, things would be clearer, and maybe their rtionship could improve.
Natalie sat on the sofa, holding the baby.
Sebastian sat across from her.
Natalie looked at him and asked, "Don''t you have work to do?"
"I''ve finished most of it for today," Sebastian exined. "I wanted to spend some time with you."
Natalie shook her head. "You don''t have to. I''m fine."
The timing was all wrong. There was a time when she would have loved for him to spend time with her, but he never did.
With that, she turned her attention to the baby. When the baby smiled, she smiled back.
"Little Vincent, you''re so cute. Give your auntie another smile," Natalie said, gently pinching his cheek.
Watching her yful smile, Sebastian couldn''t help but smile too. His phone rang. He nced down and saw it was Joanna.
Remembering the man standing behind her, he got up and went outside to take the
call.
Natalie knew it was Joanna calling, but her heart remained perfectly still.
Sebastian waited until he was outside to answer.
"Hello?"
"Sebastian, there''s a banquet tomorrow night. Can youe with me?" Joanna asked in a gentle voice.
"I have a business trip tomorrow. I don''t have time," he refused.
"Sebastian, I''m at the hospital...”
"Then get better. A miscarriage takes a toll on the body, after all."
“Sebastian, what do you mean? You don''t believe me?” Joanna''s voice suddenly filled with shock and horror.
Sebastian''s tone was cold. "When I took you to the hospital, the doctor already told me you were pregnant. Also, it seems you have some kind of disease. You should get it thoroughly checked out. Don''t want to spread it to others."
Sebastian hung up as soon as he finished speaking.
A cold glint appeared in his eyes; he felt no sympathy for Joanna''s situation.
She and Robert had been involved for a long time, and it wasn''t just Robert.
No wonder Natalie was disgusted by him. He felt filthy himself.
Sebastian turned and went back to Natalie''s room.
He had Sean send in arge tter of fruit.

Horace saw Joanna standing motionless. "Miss, are we leaving now?"
Joanna looked at him angrily. "Where is Sebastian right now?"
Horace shook his head. "I don''t know where he is, Miss."
Joanna was furious. The two men she had sent to teach Natalie a lesson had been arrested.
Fortunately, she had been cautious and left no evidence behind.
"Horace, go tell your young master that Sebastian doesn''t trust me anymore. Tell him to figure it out

Natalie ate the fruit Sean had brought in, watching Sebastian across from her. He sat there coolly, ncing at her from time to time.
She was surprised. Whenever Joanna called, he usually rushed to her side immediately. Why had hee back this time?
Curious, she cautiously asked, "Aren''t you going to see Joanna? Is she in the hospital?"
Hearing her words, Sebastian raised an eyebrow. He took off his suit jacket and ced it casually beside him.
