If Celine was her sister, that made Warren her brother-inw. How dare a brother-in-w give his sister-inw attitude? She had nothing to worry about anymore.
Liberty Ind.
Compared to her previous visits, Juniper''s mood was much heavier this time.
The subordinate leading the way snuck a nce at the famous doctor, so intimidated by ''his'' expression that he didn''t dare speak. Thest time Nocturne was here, he was arrogant and full of swagger. This time, he was quiet.
"Dr. Nocturne, if you would please wait a moment," the subordinate said respectfully when they arrived.
"Mm."
Juniper stood in the living room, carefully observing her surroundings. The decor was light and fresh, with curtains in a soft pink that any young woman would love. An eclectic mix of potted nts was scattered around the elegant room.
It was obvious Celine had nted them herself. Warren clearly doted on her, letting her do whatever she wanted.
Seeing this, Juniper''s mood lifted slightly. Even if Celine''s mind was like a child''s, at least Warren genuinely cherished her. With him around, she probably hadn''t suffered much.
"Celine, slow down."
As her thoughts drifted, Warren''s voice came from outside.
The door swung open, and Celine ran in, happily clutching a small mango cake.
"Ju-"
As if realizing her mistake, she quickly mped a hand over her mouth. After a second, she dropped her hand, her eyes darting around before she said cautiously, "Dr. Nocturne."
Juniper stood frozen, her eyes fixed on Celine''s face. If they were sisters, they should look alike. Just like she and Ebony Fox did. But aside from being female, Celine bore no resemnce to her at all.
Could it be...
Juniper''s focus sharpened, and she finally noticed something was off. Celine was wearing a disguise.
"Dr. Nocturne, you can begin."
Warren, barely containing his fury stepped in front of Celine. His dark, cold eyes stared directly at duniper, his voiceced with gritted-teeth anger.
If it weren''t for the fact that he could treat Celine... he would have gouged out the eyes of any man who dared to stare at her like that.
“Alright.” Juniper sat down and took out her blood-drawing kit. Her voice softened unconsciously. “Ma''am, could you please roll up your sleeve?"
"I''ll do it," Warren interjected immediately, gently rolling up the sleeve for her.
Looking at Celine''s slender wrist, Juniper''s brow furrowed slightly. “This will hurt a little. Just bear with me."
"Okay." Celine beamed at Juniper, forcing down her fear and trying to look brave. "I''m not scared at all."
"You''re doing great." A small smile touched Juniper''s lips as she carefully inserted the needle into the vein in Celine''s arm.
Warren''s fists clenched so tightly his knuckles cracked. He silently repeated to himself: *This doctor is still useful. Kill him after he''s done.*
Soon, two vials of crimson blood were sessfully drawn.
As Juniper packed up her equipment, she said quietly, “I need to run a few more checks. Warren, I''ll need you to step out."
"No." Warren''s refusal was absolute. The man had been staring at Celine since he walked in, and now he wanted to be alone with her?
"Warren, I''m the doctor here," Juniper said patiently, enunciating every word. "I decide how to conduct the treatment You''re the one who came to me. If you don''t trust me, you can fire me right now."
Warren was left speechless, struggling to suppress his
frustration. He stood up, looming

Juniper stared right back at him. This bastard was truly arrogant. Fine. Let''s see
how long he can keep it up.
