Seeing Warren''s silence and the fierce, unforgiving look on his face, Celine was terrified she wouldn''t get to see Juniper. A wave of anger and anxiety crashed over her, and fat tears began to spill down her cheeks.
Celine desperately tried to exin, but the words wouldn''t form correctly.
"Celine..." Warren took her hand, reining in his own annoyance. He forced himself to be patient. "Your husband is great, too."
“Huh?” Celine looked confused for a few seconds, then cupped Warren''s face with both hands and said softly, “My husband is great.”
Warren let out a helpless smile and gently pinched her nose. He turned to his subordinate. "Let Dr. Nocturne in."
He truly wanted Celine to recover. But he was also terrified that once she was well, her world would no longer revolve around him. That she might even leave him.
"Celine..." Warren knelt in front of her, gazing at her innocent, carefree face. He started to speak, then hesitated. "If... if you get better, will you..."
Celine stared at him, puzzled, but a sweet smile remained on her lips at the thought of Juniper''s arrival. She was genuinely happy.
"Forget it." Warren cut himself off. After a few seconds, he said in a raw, raspy voice, "Don''t even think about it. You''re mine. You''ll always be mine. You can only be mine."
If anyone dared topete with him, he would destroy them. Especially that untrustworthy Nocturne.
"Tell Dr. Nocturne toe to Liberty Ind," Warren ordered coldly.
He might hate the man, but Celine''s health was more important.
After breakfast, Juniper didn''t leave right away. Instead, she headed to the pantry and started rummaging through the snacks, grabbing a chaotic assortment of treats.
"Are you sure Warren won''t get suspicious if you bring all this?" Shanley stood nearby, hands in pockets, his distinguished face.
etched with worry. "Babe, de
forget, you''re supposed to be a mant right now."
Wouldn''t it seem strange for a man to bring a pile of gifts to another man''s wife for no reason?
"I won''t let him find out." Juniper crammed the snacks into her bag afraid of forgetting something. "?elipe loves anything with ntro, and she loves mangos..."
In no time, her backpack was bulging. Whether Celine was her sister or not, she had brought her cake twice. It was only right to return the favor.
"Done." After packing everything, Juniper stood up and faced Shanley. "Anyst- minute instructions?"
"Come back safe." Shanley adjusted her wig, a slight smile ying on his lips. "I hope she really is your sister."
If she was, it would be an incredible surprise.
"I will." Juniper nodded. She walked to the door, but just as she was about to get in
the car, she suddenly turned back. She stood there, her gaze fixed on him.
Shanley paused for a second, then instantly understood. He walked over. “I won''t close my eyes this time."
As long as it was his Juniper, it didn''t matter what she looked like.
With that, he leaned down, his warm lips pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. He then moved lower, pecking her rosy lips softly. "Ifbe waiting for you toe home, he murmured.
"Deal." Juniper, feeling much better, yfully grazed his abs before she left.
Damn. Ever since he started working out, his body was getting better and better.
As the car drove away, Flint asked respectfully, "Boss, should we go to the ind''s entrance to protect Ms. Payne from a distance likest time?"
“No need.” Shanley kept his hands in his pockets, raising a dark eyebrow with a half-smile. “From now on, she''s the one in charge of this game."
