?Chapter 1157:
Elena’s brows knit in irritation. “Stop following me!”
He twirled the needle between his fingers, smirking. “You won’t find him. Quit chasing shadows. Choose me instead. I’ll make sure you have everything you want.”
In an instant, Elena’s expression changed, cold and dangerous. “So it really was you.” The pieces fell into ce; Wesley’s disappearance was indeed connected to Torin.
Torin didn’t bother denying it. “And what’s so bad about being with me? Say the word, and I’ll hand you Yoswye on a silver tter.”
He wasn’t bluffing. If he wanted the throne, it was his for the taking.
But Elena didn’t care for kingdoms or crowns. She just wanted to know where Wesley was.
“Where is Wesley?” Her voice was low but firm.
Torin’s grin was wicked. “Why don’t you take a guess?”
Elena let out a quiet breath of relief. At the very least, Wesley was still breathing. Torin’s earlier words were enough to confirm that he was alive.
Elena didn’t waste time on spection. She chose to take action.
Elena sought Tinsley out. She wasted no time and said, “Your Highness, I need your help in finding someone in Yoswye.”
Catching Elena’s purpose immediately, Tinsley dismissed her guards with a quick gesture before replying, “I’m willing to help, but there’s something you need to do for me first.”
Elena didn’t miss a beat. “What do you want from me?”
Tinsley’s response was direct. “I need you to look into Gleyross Hospital for me.”
“Gleyross Hospital?” Elena repeated, a bit puzzled.
Everyone knew Gleyross Hospital was the elite hospital reserved for Yoswye’s royals and high society.
Tinsley’s demeanor grew somber. “Over the years, Gleyross Hospital has had numerous medical ‘idents.’ People have died, but with Torin backing the hospital, all those cases have been swept under the rug. Yesterday, yet another patient didn’t survive surgery. I want a thorough investigation, but I can’t risk exposing myself.”
As the acting head of state, Tinsley had her hands tied. She couldn’t challenge Torin outright or attract unwanted attention. Elena was an ideal candidate—not intimidated by Torin’s power and with unparalleled medical skills. Still… Tinsley’s expression softened with concern. “You need to know this isn’t a simple favor. It could put your life on the line. You’re free to say no.”
???????????? ???????????? ???? ??????????????????.??????
To her surprise, Elena didn’t hesitate at all. “I agree.”
Tinsley looked at her in disbelief. “Are you really sure? I can’t offer much support, at least not openly. You can still back out.”
Tinsley owed Elena a debt of gratitude since Elena had saved both her father and her brother. If there had been any other option, she would never have asked Elena to take on something so dangerous.
But Elena’s answer was firm. “I’m not changing my mind.”
She skipped the rest of the ball and left without a word.
By the following morning, Elena was standing outside Gleyross Hospital. The building looked like something out of a luxury resort, all grand architecture and polished surfaces. Instead of the usual cold sterility one would expect, Gleyross Hospital felt almost inviting, its warmth a stark contrast to the emptiness of the halls, with hardly a patient in sight.
