    The woman froze, her face reddening as whispers erupted around her. Humiliation washed over her, and she bit down on her lip to keep from trembling. She was Celeste Schneider, the daughter of the King’s younger brother, holding a rank that matched the princess in every way.


    Never in Celeste’s life had she been snubbed so cruelly. Still burning with indignation, she jabbed a finger at Elena and questioned Torin, “And her? She’s just a doctor. Why does she get to sit beside you?”

    Elena didn’t so much as nce at his hand. “Don’t embarrass yourself,” she said dryly.


    She spun on her heel and walked away, leaving him standing there.

Almost too good-looking to be real. And instead of taking offense, he simply trailed after her like nothing had happened.
