?Chapter 1019:
Even as the crowd hurled insults and taunts her way, Elena didn’t flinch and gave N a derisive smirk. “Do you honestly believe I’m as desperate for attention as you?” she shot back, her voice steady. “I don’t need to go around lying about being the Healer’s protégé just to feel important.”
N couldn’t help but think Elena was asking for trouble. Since Elena wanted to make a fool of herself in public, she was ready to oblige. Of all possible asions, Elena had picked the worst one. Today, every major medical expert was present, even the President of the International Society of Medical Sciences. There couldn’t have been a more humiliating backdrop.
Determined to teach Elena a lesson in front of everyone and to show Wesley the fool Elena truly was, N braced herself for a public takedown. A sly grin crept across her lips as she said, “I’ve reached heights that you’ll nevere close to in your whole lifetime. Pretending you’re better than me won’t get you anywhere. The Healer and the President of the International Society of Medical Sciences are about to arrive. You wanted attention? You’re about to get it in the worst way.”
Suddenly, a loud p echoed through the air, stunning everyone into silence. For a split second, N was too shocked to react. The sting on her left cheek quickly snapped her back. Elena had just pped her!
Whatever trace of a polite smile N wore faded instantly, her eyes turning cold. “How dare you hit me?”
Elena calmly lowered her hand, meeting N’s re with icyposure. “I thought you liked to watch people get pped, so I wanted you to try it for yourself.”
N clenched her jaw, struggling to keep her temper in check. If they hadn’t been surrounded by so many people, she would have pounced on Elena without a second thought.
The onlookers couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed. Had Elena lost her mind? N was rumored to be the Healer’s protégé, and Elena had just pped her!
As the tension hung thick in the air, themotion was interrupted by the arrival of an elderly man with silver hair, leading a group of distinguished guests into the room.
A voice broke through the murmurs. “Isn’t that the President of the International Society of Medical Sciences? Did the Healere with him?”

Heads turned, curiosity rippling through the crowd. Only a cluster of elderly gentlemen appeared, though—the Healer was nowhere in sight.
Taking the opportunity, N stepped forward, irritation shing across her face as she pointed at Elena. “President Espinoza, your timing is perfect. This woman is pretending to be the Healer. She insulted my mentor and even struck me. Please, expose her lies and have her removed.”
Reilly Espinoza, President of the International Society of Medical Sciences, was an old friend of Elena’s. For years, they had exchanged opinions online over different medical cases. To him, her insights as the famous Healer were invaluable. Thus, N’s im stirred his anger. But the moment his eyes followed N’s extended finger andnded on Elena, his stern look softened, a wide smile recing any hint of irritation. Elena hadn’t deceived him. She had really attended this year’s forum.
Before Reilly could say a word, N continued, piling on her demands. “Just letting her walk away isn’t enough. She pped me, President Espinoza! I want justice. I’m the Healer’s protégé. If you don’t act on this, you’ll be disrespecting the Healer—”
N never got to finish. Reilly’s hand shot out, striking her across the face. He had endured so many obstacles just to bring the legendary Healer here. Now, this foolish woman made a scene and disrespected the Healer. Worse, she failed to recognize the Healer while daring to im to be the Healer’s protégé. He had personally extended the invitation to the Healer. Insulting the Healer was as good as insulting him.
