?Chapter 1020:
Even at his age, Reilly’s pnded with surprising force, leaving a bright red mark on N’s right cheek, perfectly matching the p mark caused by Elena earlier.
Stunned, N gaped at him. “President Espinoza, why did you hit me? You know I am—”
Reilly cut her off. “I hit you because you deserved it. Who do you think you are? Still wanting to im yourself as the Healer’s protégé? I was thrilled when I heard the Healer finally took on a protégé, but you’re nothing but an impostor.”
Reilly’s authority as President of the International Society of Medical Sciences meant his words carried enormous weight. No one in the room dared question him.
The crowd that had been waiting for Elena’s downfall now stood speechless, unable to process the turn of events.
Snapping out of his daze, Morrison finally spoke up and pointed at Elena. “President Espinoza, perhaps you’ve pped the wrong person? Dr. Vance is the Healer’s true protégé, while this woman is the one pretending!”
Reilly shot him a sharp look and scoffed. “I might be getting on in years, but my eyes still work. I know exactly who deserved that p.”
Glenn quickly interjected, “President Espinoza, there must be some misunderstanding here. Dr. Vance isn’t a fraud.”
Ignoring him, Reilly walked over to Elena, showing her the respect of an old friend. Then, turning to the entire room, he announced, “Take a good look, everyone. This is the real Healer. I pped Dr. Vance because she earned that! Not recognizing the Healer and pretending to be her protégé? The audacity!”
The staff at the Base Medical Center were at a loss for words before erupting into a heated discussion.
“Is this for real? She’s the Healer after all?”
“Wait, I remember it now! She was at the hospital before the Healer performed surgery on Deputy Commander Aston.”
“So it’s true! What does that mean for Dr. Vance?”
“Isn’t it obvious? Dr. Vance has been lying this whole time. She doesn’t even know the Healer!”
Glenn turned a hard re on N. “Care to exin yourself, N?”

N’s fists tightened at her sides as her thoughts scattered in a panic. She had considered every angle, except for one—Elena, the woman she’d dismissed, was the Healer all along.
The doubtful stares from the crowd left N utterly speechless, her confidence dissolving on the spot. If Elena truly was the famous Healer, then she had kissed her two hundred million goodbye due to her earlier foolish request to be taken on as the Healer’s protégé. Humiliation burned. Elena was probably enjoying every second of her misfortune.
N bit down hard on her lower lip as the chorus of ridicule grew louder around her. Snickers and sneers erupted.
“Thought she was a diamond—turns out she’s just cheap ss.”
“Of all things to lie about, she picked being the Healer’s protégé? The nerve!”
“Can you believe she bragged right in front of the actual Healer? She’s lucky all she got was a p. She deserved a much more severe punishment for that audacity.”
“Thank God she doesn’t work at our hospital. What a nightmare that would be!”
“And she’s still standing there? If I embarrassed myself like that, I’d be halfway to the next city by now.”
Glenn turned white and then red, caught between embarrassment and rage. How he wished the ground beneath him would swallow him this instant. Resentment shed in his eyes as he fixed N with a cold re. “You’ve disgraced everyone here. Get the fuck out of here!” He nned to deal with herter.
