Chapter 1018

    ?Chapter 1018:

She replied with a bitterugh, “My mentor, the Healer, will be here soon. By that time, not even begging on your knees will secure my forgiveness!”

Elena had seen enough of N’s charade. That smug expression on N’s face was rather irritating. A derisiveugh escaped her. “Come on, N. You really believe your lies will go unchallenged forever?”

N’s gaze sharpened, eyes narrowing. “What did you just say?”

Off to the side, Morrison could hardly contain his excitement. Jonah’s having offended the Healer’s protégé might mean the sessor of Boyd Pharmaceuticals was about to be reced. Maybe, just maybe, his own time had finallye. Surely, in no time, Jonah and Elena would be exiled from the.

Every eye in the room was fixed on the unfolding drama. The crowd seemed to savor the moment, ready to see Jonah and Elena fail spectacrly. How could Jonah be so reckless? Was he truly the Boyd family’s next leader? Had hepletely lost touch with reality? And Elena—was she out of her mind? Did she honestly think her looks or her nerve could save her from crossing the Healer’s protégé?

Not a single influential person in the dared risk offending the Healer. To everyone watching, Elena was just setting herself up for public humiliation.

Elena nced around and caught sight of the onlookers’ disdainful expressions, clearly eager for her downfall. But they were about to be disappointed.

A sly smile curled on Elena’s lips as she raised her voice for all to hear. “Let’s not drag this out. Everyone wants to meet the Healer, right? That’s me—I am the Healer.”

“What?” N stared in disbelief, her mind refusing to process what she had just heard. Had Elena really said those words? The notion that Elena was actually the Healer seemed impossible.

Snapping out of her surprise, N let out a shrillugh. “You? The Healer? Come on! You’re nothing but window dressing. You must have finally lost it, spouting nonsense here in front of everyone.”

Every face in the room wore the same look of skepticism. No one seemed willing to believe Elena.

Morrison jabbed a finger in Elena’s direction and let out a harshugh. “You im to be the Healer? That’s rich. At least try to make your statement convincing. Do you honestly believe the real Healer would appear looking like you do, in those wrinkled scraps you tossed on? Tell me, who exactly do you think is falling for this nonsense?”

    Every journey starts at g?lnσν????s﹒??о??

For once, Jonah’sposure cracked. His eyes widened with excitement. His suspicion had been right all along—Elena was the Healer. His gaze scanned her from head to toe. As usual, she had on a hoodie and jeans, something easy and familiar, with a quiet kind of elegance tucked into the simplicity. Elena had never dressed to impress anyone, always choosing ease over style, but now that same choice had turned into something these clueless onlookers could throw at her.

“Dressed like that and calling herself the Healer? She must think we’re all fools.”

“This is beyondughable. I bet she couldn’t even pick the real Healer out of a lineup.”

“If she’s the Healer, I will eat my hat.”

The crowd roared withughter, tossing ridicule at Elena as though she’d lost her grip on reality.

N curled her lip. “Elena, it was already embarrassing enough watching you make a scene at the medical center. And now you show up here just to humiliate yourself? I get it—you can’t stand that the Healer picked me. But this kind of desperate bragging only makes you look smaller.”

N had initially suspected that Elena might be onto something, but she hadn’t expected Elena to publicly im to be the Healer. That was all she needed to write Elena offpletely. In her eyes, Elena was all appearance and no real ability, hardly someone she would even take seriously as a rival.
