?Chapter 1015:
Outside the Azure Dragon Unit Base, who could protect that despicable woman? N was confident in herself. Everyone in the room now viewed her as the Healer’s protégé, desperate to gain her approval. Yet what did Elena ever bring to the table? She decided she’d use this moment to prove once and for all who truly belonged by Wesley’s side.
Meanwhile, Elena’s fingers flew across her phone screen as she messaged Davey, until a gruff shout broke her focus. “You! What’s your business here? This is the Peak Hotel, and we’re hosting the International Advanced Medical Practices Forum today. Only the big shots are allowed through. You have no ce here and had better move along.”
Before Elena could get a word in, the guard spat near her shoes and snapped, “Don’t make me drag you out myself!”
Elena’s gaze was firm as she met the guard’s re. “Go ahead. I dare you.”
Despite being invited to the event, she hadn’t even made it through the door before trouble came calling. Her irritation simmered beneath the surface, and she fixed the guard with an icy, unwavering stare.
The intensity of her look alone made the guard falter. For a second, he stiffened, but then his face darkened with embarrassment and irritation. “I’ve encountered a fair share of gold-diggers like you. You think you can worm your way into events far above you andtch onto some big shots. But your antics won’t get you in, not when I’m watching over the entrance of this ce.”
The guard reached out, but Elena was quicker—she moved like lightning, flipping him onto the floor in one swift motion. Pain shot through his back before he even realized he’d been taken down, and his wrist twisted at a painful angle.
He winced, teeth clenched in agony.
“Still intent on blocking me from entering?” Elena’s voice was even and cool.
Whimpering, the guard clutched his arm, shaking his head furiously. “It hurts—it hurts! Let me go!”
With a look of utter disdain, Elena released the guard and coolly took out a tissue, wiping her hands as though she had touched something dirty.
Morrison, who had been desperate to make a good impression on N,pletely lost hisposure at the sight of the guard sprawled on the floor. A forced smile froze on his lips as he approached Elena, his brow knitted in clear annoyance.
“Miss, you think you can force your way in by attacking security? Today’s forum is the Healer’s first public appearance. If you cause a scene and displease the Healer, there’s no way to fix it.”

Morrison’s gaze sharpened as he carefully took in every detail of her appearance. No denying she was beautiful, but unfortunately for her, she had just offended N, the supposed protégé of the Healer. If not for that, her looks might have earned her a little leniency. But when it came down to it, choosing between a pretty face and the Healer’s protégé wasn’t even a question.
Known for avoiding the spotlight, the Healer rarely showed up at public gatherings. Her agreement to make an appearance here could only mean one thing: N’s involvement, which spoke volumes on its own.
Eager to make himself look good in front of N, Morrison’s tone grew even sharper. “I’ve met plenty of women who think a pretty face is a ticket to an easy life—always chasing after rich heirs, hoping to trade beauty for luxury. Have a Little…”
“…dignity. Looks might buy you a spot in someone’s bed, but you’ll be tossed aside before long. But Dr. Vance is a different story. As the Healer’s protégé, she stands on her own merit. People look up to her not because of any man she depends on, but because she’s earned every ounce of respect. That’s the kind of woman who deserves to be here. Someone like you? You’re not even worthy of carrying her shoes, and you think you can just stroll in?”
