?Chapter 995:
Benico was baffled. What was with this client? Hiding behind a mask was strange enough, and now she didn’t even respect the rules. Didn’t she know how any of this worked? She waspletely out of line.
With Benico refusing her request, Elena didn’t press further. Instead, she asked in a calm voice, “When’s the doctor supposed to arrive?”
She needed to see if N was the doctor for this organization. If it really was N, she wouldn’t hold back. A dangerous spark flickered in her captivating eyes.
Benico checked the clock, barely half past ten. He signaled one of his subordinates. “Call the doctor again. Tell her the client showed up early and she needs to get here as soon as possible.”
In an instant, the subordinate rushed out to ce the call. He returned quickly. “She’ll be here in ten minutes.”
Benico turned to Elena. “You heard him. The doctor will be here in about ten minutes.”
Benico led Elena to a room adjacent to the operating room, where an entire wall was made of ss windows, offering a clear view of the surgical table.
“You’ll be able to see the whole procedure from here,” Benico exined.
Elena gave a slight nod, her face unreadable. She figured she would just wait for ten minutes. As soon as that heartless doctor stepped through the door, she would bring this entire operation to an end.
But an unexpected twist urred. The basement door swung open, and a subordinate walked in, assisting a wounded man.
Elena’s eyes narrowed the moment she recognized him. It was Wyatt, who had taken a bullet from her and still managed to bolt.
“Wyatt!” Benico eximed, hurrying over. “Who did this to you? Who’s got the guts to go after you?”
Fury shed across his face as Benico pulled out his gun. Ready to hunt down the attacker, he headed straight toward the exit.
“No. Stop.” Wyatt’s low voice halted him.
Benico froze in his tracks, still seething. “Wyatt, tell me who did this. I’ll make them pay.”
Jaw clenched, Wyatt tore open his sleeve to reveal a fresh wound. As someone began tending to the bullet lodged in his arm, he said through gritted teeth, “You wouldn’t stand a chance against her.”

Agony twisted Wyatt’s features, while a fierce and bitter anger shed in his eyes. He swore to make Elena pay if they ever crossed paths again. He had only just managed to escape alive, while Cyrus had died at her hands. He vowed to take his revenge.
Just then, Wyatt caught a glimpse of Elena at the edge of his vision, her face hidden behind the mask. His gaze darkened. “And who might you be?” His suspicious eyes lingered on Elena’s mask, trying to make sense of her presence.
Benico jumped in, eager to smooth things over. “Wyatt, she’s our client for today. She’s just here to inspect our goods.”
Wyatt shot Elena a doubtful look, his eyes narrowing. “A client, huh? Why the mask? We never disclose any client’s information, so there’s no reason to hide your face from us. If you’re really a buyer, take the mask off.”
Behind the mask, Elena’s lips curled into a cold, calcting smirk. Wyatt had sensed something amiss, and her cover risked being blown. She had hoped to keep up the charade a little longer, at least until she confirmed whether the doctor in question was N.
Calmly, Elena lifted her chin, her clear eyes locking with Wyatt’s menacing stare. Recognition hit Wyatt all at once, his expression shifting sharply. “It’s you! You actually followed me all the way here!”
