Chapter 994

    ?Chapter 994:

Benico snatched up his Browning from the table, jaw clenched and eyes sharp. “Quit whining. Go check. If they’re not the buyers, blow their head off.”

The door stayed closed, but a rough voice barked from behind the steel. “Who is it?”

Elena pitched her voice low and gravelly, sounding like some middle-aged man. “Here to inspect my merchandise.”

Benico recognized the phrase. He lowered the gun—but not his guard. He asked, “What’s the time of the appointment?”

Elena didn’t flinch. “Eleven. The flightnded early. We’re ahead of schedule by about an hour.”

The details lined up, and Benico let his shoulders drop a bit. He cracked open the door but stopped short at the sight of her covered face. “What’s with the mask?”

Elena didn’t look up. Her voice was calm but edged. “In this line of work? You don’t survive by showing your face.”

Benico paused for a beat and then gave a small nod. “You’re right. Gotta stay careful in this business.”

He kept his thoughts to himself. He knew better than to piss the client off. Their clients were all big shots—world leaders, billionaire tycoons. One healthy organ could sell for hundreds of thousands, sometimes even millions. Regr folks could never afford it. This underground business thrived off the rich, and those rich clients were keeping them all paid.

Benico politely stepped aside and held the door open like he’d done it a hundred times. “Youe alone?” he asked.

Elena’s eyes shed with quiet rage. She smirked. “I don’t need anyone else.”

She was more than capable of handling these bastards alone without breaking a sweat. Benico didn’t dwell on her words, just figuring she was one of those lone-wolf types who preferred to work solo. What he didn’t know was that Elena was here to end them for good.

Benico took her through the main hallway and out to the back.

The stench hit Elena instantly—thick, metallic, unmistakably blood. Her face tightened. That smell didn’te from just one or two victims. It was soaked into the walls. How many had died here?

Benico opened the door to the basement and gave her a polite nod. “The goods are downstairs. After you.”

Elena didn’t hesitate. She walked down first, calm and alert.

The basement was a whole other world. It was cold, sterile, and sickening. The setup down here looked top-tier, with medical equipment rivaling that of the best hospitals.

Benico smiled proudly. “This is where we take the organster. We know what we’re doing. Clean cuts. Best organs money can buy.”

To Benico, people weren’t people. They were just meat with a price tag.

He led Elena to a room sealed with thick, clear ss. Inside, a young womany crumpled on the floor. She wasn’t moving, but her eyes were wide open—awake, terrified, pletely aware.

Benico spoke like he was selling a handbag. “This one’s your order. We ran the tests—she’s in perfect shape. You’re early, though. The doctor’s still on the way. As soon as she gets here, we’ll begin the extraction.”

“Open the door. I want to see for myself.” Elena spoke in a quiet, tightly controlled tone, hershes dipping just enough to hide the cold resolve burning in her eyes.

Benico narrowed his eyes, eyeing Elena with suspicion. “That’s not how things are done here. Our goods are always the best you’ll find. Trust me, they were all perfectly healthy when we brought them in. They only seem so lifeless because we gave them a heavy sedative.”
