?Chapter 993:
Wesley nced at Arion, who turned to leave without a word, ready to buy the dessert.
“Hold on,” Elena called out.
Arion halted mid-step. Elena’s eyes stayed on Wesley. “I want you to get it for…”
Arion stiffened. Did Elena mean it? No one gave Wesleymands—definitely not like that. She had to be out of her depth. Even if Wesley treated her differently, there was no chance he would actually listen to her. Surely, she had crossed a line.
But the blowup never came. To Arion’s utter shock, Wesley rose and headed out without a word.
Arion stayed rooted to the spot. What was happening? Wesley wasn’t angry, and he actually left to buy her dessert!
Arion blinked, struggling to process it. It wasn’t until Wesley had nearly vanished from view that the truth hit: this was actually happening.
Elena spoke casually. “You nning to catch up, or just watch him walk away?”
Jolted back to reality, Arion rushed after Wesley.
The moment they were out of sight, Elena sprang into action. She crossed the room in a few strides, caught the edge of the second-floor window, andunched herself through it. Her feet touched down lightly on the narrow ledge of an air conditioning unit, and then she dropped to the pavement in one smooth, practiced motion.
Dusting off her sleeves, she wandered toward a nearby vendor, paid for a mask, and disappeared into the flow of pedestrians.
She slipped into an inte café and settled in a corner. Her hands danced over the keyboard. In moments, a digital map burst to life, disying the region’s busiestwork nodes. Only two locations stood out. Aside from the Azure Dragon Unit Base, only one location showed significant encrypted traffic.
Her expression didn’t shift, but her pale fingers worked with quiet uracy. A blinkter, she breached the system. The firewall offered no resistance—cutting through it felt effortless. Transaction logs loaded across the screen. Each organ was listed with a price—shameless, sickening.
As shebed through the chat logs, she broke their coded jargon and locked in on their central hub. Then, erasing every trace of her presence, she disconnected and vanished from the system.
The underground trading hub was buzzing like a ho’s nest. Two clients wereing to grab their merchandise today, which everyone knew meant human organs.

“Eyes wide open, got it? Make sure the girls don’t drop dead before the handoff. Clients want to see them breathing.”
“Rx, Benico. We hit them with enough sedatives to knock out a damn horse. They won’t be able to move for hours.”
“Stay sharp. The boss is counting on this deal. If something goes wrong, we’re all dead meat.”
“Has Dr. Vance been notified? Clients wanna take the goods straight after the inspection.”
“Yeah, chill. I gave Dr. Vance the heads-up. She said she’ll show right on time, no dys.”
Deep in a sketchy alley, a heavy steel gate sealed off apound like it was guarding secrets no one wanted out. This hellhole was the headquarters of an organ-trafficking operation that would make anyone’s skin crawl.
Elena walked up like she owned the ce and gave the gate a firm knock, her face hidden behind a ck mask.
Wyatt was not around, which made Benico Payne top dog—for now.
“Yo, Benico, I thought the clients weren’t showing up till eleven. It’s ten. Who the hell’s knocking? Could be a setup.”
