?Chapter 765:
“It’s just a damn dress!” Evelyn snapped, rolling her eyes. “What’s the big deal? I’ll pay you for it if it means that much to you.”
Evelyn snorted. God, how petty could Elena get? It was just a stupid dress—nothing worth making a fuss over. Who cared, really? Her wardrobe was packed with top-tier designerbels. Honestly, if it didn’t have Fannie’s name on it, she wouldn’t have given the thing a second look. It wasn’t even her style.
Elena’s eyes sharpened like a de. “So, you opened a package that wasn’t yours and decided to wear what was inside? Is that how manners work in your family?”
Evelyn’s cheeks turned red in an instant, caught and humiliated. Sure, she’d opened it without asking. Bute on—there wasn’t even a name on it. How was she supposed to know it wasn’t meant for her? At least, that was what she told herself.
Emboldened by that thought, Evelyn shot back, “There wasn’t a name on it. How was I to know it was yours? I assumed it was mine and opened it. What’s the problem?”
Elenaughed coldly, disbelief evident. She couldn’t fathom such shamelessness. Evelyn assumed the package was hers, but upon seeing the dress inside, didn’t she question if she’d purchased it? Trying on something not hers showed boldness.
Elena’s voice became icy. “And the dress—you believed it was yours and couldn’t wait to try it on?”
Evelyn’s audacity shocked Elena. Regardless of whether Evelyn had purchased some dressesmon sense should’ve guided her. Moreover, the dress clearly didn’t fit her.
Elena had crafted the dress specifically for Kiera’s small build. Kiera was petite and slim, whereas Evelyn had a fuller figure. The dress was evidently too tight on Evelyn.
Elena smirked. “Doesn’t it feel like it’s squeezing your waist too much?”
Evelyn’s face turned sour, and she instinctively hugged her waist. She had felt the tightness the moment she put it on, but adored the design so much that she held her breath and zipped it up forcefully. Once she rxed, the dress’s tight grip on her waist became embarrassingly noticeable.
Evelyn was meticulous about her looks and followed a strict workout regimen. However, she gained weight easily, and skipping workouts for a few days showed visibly. Recently, due to wedding preparations, she hadn’t been attending the gym.

Elena’sment hit a sore spot, and Evelynshed out. “You’re trying to embarrass me, right? This cheap dress should feel lucky I even wore it! You get a few praises, and now you believe you’re a genuine designer? Thosepliments were just out of politeness because of your family. And you were gullible enough to believe them. Wearing this trash in public would beughable. Obviously, your parents didn’t teach you manners—so let me demonstrate.”
Triggered abruptly, Evelyn charged at Elena and screamed, “I’m your sister-inw! What’s the problem with wearing your clothes? You wretch, how dare you imply I’m fat?”
Elena smoothly dodged, evading Evelyn’s lunge. “Sister-inw? I’d be curious to see what my brother would think watching you behave like this.”
In that instant, Evelyn’s actions were nothing short of disgraceful.
Evelyn had missed Elena and was gearing up for another attack when Elena’s words stopped her dead in her tracks.
Caught in her rage earlier, Evelyn had momentarily lost sight of her surroundings. Marrying Jeffry had required careful maniption, and she couldn’t risk him witnessing her unravel.
Observing quietly, the butler saw how the once frenzied Evelyn quickly regained herposure.
