Chapter 763

    ?Chapter 763:

When she walked in, she found Evelyn in the living room, chatting on her phone.

Evelyn, who had been all smiles during her call, lost that smile when she saw Elena. Her eyes filled with disgust. Dressed like that at night, who knew where Elena had been out screwing around—what a slut! Evelyn rolled her eyes and turned her back, not wanting to deal with Elena.

Once Elena went upstairs, Evelyn went back toining about Elena on the phone.

Suddenly, the butler announced that a package had arrived from overseas.

Evelyn hung up and walked over. “What is this? Who ordered it?”

The butler replied, “There’s no name on it, just the address. Maybe Miss Harper ordered it…”

Before the butler could finish his sentence, Evelyn had already ripped open the package.

The butler stood there, momentarily speechless, hesitating before saying, “Mrs. Harper, shouldn’t we tell Miss Harper first?”

Evelyn retorted, “Why should I care? There’s no name on it. How do we even know it belongs to her?”

Even though the butler disagreed, he couldn’t stop her. He didn’t think much of Evelyn, who had recently married into the Harper family. Whether it was Elena’s package or not, Evelyn shouldn’t have opened someone else’s package without asking. It was just basic politeness.

Evelyn carefully pulled out the folded item from the box, her eyes widening with excitement. It was a dress! A really gorgeous dress!

“This is stunning, and it looks seriously expensive!” Evelyn eximed. With her sharp eye for fashion, she instantly knew this dress was one-of-a-kind, not something you could find in any store.

The fabric felt smooth and luxurious—a breathtaking shade of blue. The waist and hem had been tailored with unbelievable precision, creating a look that was both simple and sophisticated.

The butler gently reminded Evelyn, “Mrs. Harper, there seems to be a note inside. It might tell us who the dress is for.”

Evelyn snatched up the note and read aloud, “My dear mentor, the dress is ready for you. The person receiving this gift is sure to adore it!”

Evelyn raised an eyebrow. Mentor? The only person who ever called Elena “mentor” was Fannie. Could this be one of Fannie’stest creations?

A spark of excitement flickered in Evelyn’s chest—but something felt off, like a red g. The design was nothing like Fannie’s usual style. And those embroidered daisies… They looked way more like Elena’s design.

The second it hit her that Elena had designed it, the smile vanished from Evelyn’s face like it had never been there. What could Elena possibly create that was worth anything? That daisy wedding dress from before? Probably just a fluke. It wasn’t Elena’s talent at all—it was all Fannie’s brilliance. Elena had just piggybacked off Fannie’s genius, tweaking a gown Fannie had already designed. Even aplete idiot couldn’t screw that up.

Evelyn was convinced she was right. How could someone raised in the middle of nowhere possibly know anything about high fashion?

“So, it was one of Elena’s designs.” Evelyn scoffed, holding the dress with barely concealed disgust. “So damn in. Not a shred of originality. Besides sewing on a few daisies, what else can she even do?”

The butler’s brow furrowed slightly, a hint of disapproval shing across his face. Just moments before, Evelyn had been raving about the dress’s elegance. Now, just because Elena designed it, Evelyn was trashing itpletely.
