?Chapter 760:
Following her eyes, Earle nced down at the smear of blood on his arm. He clicked his tongue in mild annoyance, frowning slightly. “The target struggled too much. Got blood all over the damn ce.” He said it like it was a minor annoyance and then casually looked back at Elena with a smile. “You got a tissue on you?”
Elena lowered her gaze, slowly reaching into her pocket. Out of the corner of her eye, she kept her focus glued to the exit. Silently, she counted down the seconds. Five, four, three, two, one…
But just as she was about to make a run for it, something cold and hard pressed against the small of her back.
Earle kept smiling and lifted one eyebrow. “Don’t move. You don’t want this thing to fire by mistake.”
Elena turned around slowly and froze when she saw a gun pointed straight at her.
Earle walked forward slowly, each step of his leather shoes making a heavy sound on the floor.
She stepped back without thinking until her back hit the cold wall. She had nowhere else to go.
Earle kept the gun steady in one hand, his eyes moving slowly over her face. His stare was sharp and full of threat. “I spent so much time trying to find you. And now here you are, walking straight into my hands.”
He lifted her chin with the end of the gun, making her look directly at him.
“Now, let me think… Where do we start?” Earle said casually, like it was no big deal. “How about that new weapon you’re developing for Wesley’spany?”
Elena’s face stayed calm. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Pretending you don’t know?” he said, voice lower and colder. “Don’t push me. I’d hate to mess up this pretty face.”
He leaned closer, his green eyes locked onto hers. She could feel his breath against her skin. She smelled the sharp, metallic scent of blood. Earle noticed the brief look of disgust in her eyes. At first, he just wanted information about Wesley’s new tech project—but now, his thoughts were shifting. She was stunning. And the defiance in her eyes? That made him even more interested.
Earle stared at her like a predator, his eyes fixed on her face. His nose was almost touching hers. Even with the gun pressed to her chin, they were ufortably close. From a distance, it might’ve looked like they were locked in a kiss or an embrace.

And that was exactly the thought running through Earle’s mind. “Why don’t you be my woman?” he asked suddenly.
Elena didn’t even flinch. “No way.”
Her sharp answer didn’t make Earle mad. If anything, it made him more intrigued. In one quick move, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. His lips moved slowly toward hers…
Taken by surprise, Elena suddenly found herself pulled into a tight hug. The light before her waspletely blocked, and the smell of tobo mixed with a heavy, suffocating feeling that pressed in on her. Reacting purely on instinct, Elena threw a punch without a second thought.
“Ugh,” Earle grunted, blood trickling from the side of his mouth. Taking advantage of his brief shock, Elena grabbed his wrist with one hand and took the gun away from him with the other. In a split second, the situation hadpletely changed.
Elena held the gun to his chest. “Move away.”
A hint of surprise shed in Earle’s eyes, and he couldn’t help butpliment her. “You’re fast.”
Elena wasn’t interested in chatting. Her voice was cold and sharp as a knife. “Keep following me, and I’ll fire.”
