?Chapter 737:
Elena had been watching Evelyn’s antics for a while now and had originally nned to spare Evelyn some dignity for Jeffry’s sake, but Evelyn was clearly too much of a bitch for that.
Honestly, if it hadn’t been for Elena, Fannie would have never designed a dress for Evelyn in the first ce. And Fannie was only even at this wedding because she wanted to see Elena.
Elena silently watched Evelyn’s little performance. She’d been curious to see what kind of drama Evelyn tried to stir up, but she hadn’t expected Evelyn to actually believe Fannie wasing to the wedding because of her. What a joke!
If Evelyn wasn’t marrying Elena’s brother, Jeffry, there was no way Fannie would have agreed to design that dress, let alone show up at the wedding.
Just thirty minutes earlier, Elena had gotten a text from Fannie before her flight took off. It read, “Elena, I’m on my way to see you! Wait for me! Your loving apprentice, Fannie.”
Just then, the staff member hurried over with the memory card. Seeing how calm and sure of herself Elena was, Evelyn started to feel a knot of unease in her stomach. Could it be that Elena really hadn’t trashed the dress? If they got the security footage working and it showed Elena was innocent, what would the Harper family think of her?
Evelyn started to seriously regret her rash actions.
Aria, standing close by, didn’t believe for a second that Elena could fix the security footage. Annoyed by Jeffry sticking up for Elena, she shot Elena a hostile look.
Aria remarked sarcastically, “They’ve already said the security system is busted, but you’re still trying to show off. Have you forgotten today’s your brother and Evelyn’s big day? If you hold up this important moment, who’s going to take the me? Elena, even if you’re stubborn, you should at least understand the importance of today. I’m just wondering how your parents, from that backwater youe from, raised you with such ack of manners…”
Your imagination begins with gα?ησν????s﹒?????
Aria’s thoughtless words made everyone around them shift ufortably.
Jolie had been biting her tongue, but she wasn’t about to let anyone insult her daughter like that. “Mrs. Morgan, how my daughter was raised is none of your damn business!”
Jolie’s face hardened, her voice turning ice-cold. “The wedding dress was ruined, and I get that Evelyn’s upset. But as an elder, you should be calming her down, not making things worse. Looks to me like the one with the realck of manners is standing right here!”
Everyone could see Jolie was genuinely pissed. The fact that she switched from calling Aria “Aria” to “Mrs. Morgan” said everything. Evelyn picked up on Jolie’s change in tone and started to freak out. Jolie was the only person in the Harper—
The Harper family was the only one who had been kind to her. Without Jolie’s support, how was she going to win over Jeffry?
