Chapter 1143

    ?Chapter 1143:

    Makenna’s POV:

A sickening crack echoed as Evie’s head snapped sideways, fresh blood trailing from her split lip. The sight of Evie’s battered form sent a sharp ache through my chest. My lips parted to protest, but a blur of movement cut me off.

Jett surged forward, already positioning himself between us and the threat. His gaze bored into Leonardo, his voice dropping to a lethal whisper. “Leonardo Reeves, release them. I’ll take their ce.”

Leonardo’s eyebrow arched, triumph glinting in his eyes as he drawled, “And why would I trust your word? You and those white wolves have always been masters of deception. I wasn’t born yesterday.”

Jett stood unmoved, his stare turning cial as it locked onto Leonardo. Drawing a steadying breath, I closed the distance to Jett’s side. “Let them go. We’ll surrender ourselves willingly. But understand this—if youy another finger on them, I promise you’ll regret it.”

Leonardo’s eyes narrowed at my ultimatum, his fingers drumming against the armrest of his throne while his calcting gaze shifted between Jett and me, clearly measuring the risks. The chamber’s atmosphere grew suffocating, as if all oxygen had been drained from the room.

Without warning, Evie exploded into motion. Her muscles strained against her bonds until they snapped apart, strength fueled by desperation. She ripped the gag from her mouth, her ragged voice cutting through the tension.

“Don’t believe him! Alice and Winfred were never his prisoners!”

Her revtion froze everyone in ce, even Leonardo himself. His face darkened instantly, panic flickering in his eyes as he shot to his feet, bellowing at Evie with unrestrained fury. “Shut up, you wretched woman!”

Evie thrashed against her remaining restraints, her voice rising above the chaos. “I witnessed it myself—Alice and Winfred broke free days ago…”

The nearby soldiers sprang into action, weapons gleaming as they converged on Evie’s position.

But before they could reach her, a towering shadow blurred past—Bryan materialized in front of Evie, a human shield against the advancing threat.

    “Stay away from her.”

Bryan’s deep voice and piercing re alone forced the soldiers to falter in their advance.

Simultaneously, Dominic and yton ghosted to Rosaline’s location, swift fingers working her bonds until she too was freed.

I fixed Leonardo with an icy stare from below his throne, my voice dripping with disdain. “Seems your grand deception has crumbled. So tell me—where exactly are Alice and Winfred?”

Leonardo’s face drained of color at my usation, clearly blindsided by our counterattack, panic morphing swiftly into rage.

“Makenna, what does it matter if they’ve slipped my grasp? Did you truly believe this would secure your escape? You’re delusional!” Leonardo snarled through clenched teeth.

With a violent sh of his hand, his voice spiraled into manic fury. “Kill them all! Spare no one!”

As themand echoed, Leonardo’s gaze swept across the three princes nking me, murderous intent gleaming in his eyes, his tone plunging to arctic depths. “Should the princes dare resist, show them the same fate—kill them all without hesitation!”
