?Chapter 991:
My chest tightened, but I quickly raised my voice to steady the waters. “It’s nothing! Just a heated debate—some things toppled over. No cause for concern.”
“Very well,” the attendant replied, lingering briefly before his footsteps faded away.
I whirled to face the trio of wolves still locked in their savage dance, my tone cutting through the chaos. “Enough! Put an end to this!” But my plea fell on deaf ears as they battled on, heedless.
My patience snapped like a frayed thread. I stormed to the table, seized a water cup, and hurled it to the floor. The shatter rang out, shards skittering across the tiles, and atst, their frenzy froze. Three pairs of eyes swiveled to me.
I fixed them with a re, my voice icy and unyielding. “Is this really the moment for petty squabbles? Have you forgotten how precarious our position is? Cody and the king could unravel our scheme any second!”
At that, the tempest in the three princes’ eyes subsided. They drew apart, a flicker of light washing over them as they shed their wolf forms for human ones. Bryan raked a hand across his brow, frustrationcing his tone. “Makenna, I can’t help it. The thought of you being Dominic’s mate—it drives me mad with envy!”
yton’s head bowed, his face etched with anguish, his words a hoarse whisper. “Makenna, I should have been the one to mark you… why Dominic? I can’t wrap my head around it…”
This absurd spectacle left me utterly drained. I drew a steadying breath, tamping down my exasperation, and spoke with a weary edge. “Let’s shelve these personal gripes and focus on what truly matters, shall we?”
Silence settled atst.
I crossed to the couch, sinking into its cushions, and reached for a fresh cup, pouring water to soothe my rattled nerves.
“Barring any surprises, Evelyn will make her move within days,” I murmured, my voice soft but firm.

No sooner had I spoken than Dominic sauntered over, plopping down beside me with a faint, knowing smile. His eyes sparkled with curiosity as they met mine. “What makes you so certain? Evelyn’s loyalty to the Harrison family runs deep. Even with her life on the line, she might not bend so easily.”
I cast him a sidelong nce, a sigh escaping me inwardly. Though the sh between the three had cooled for now, the undercurrents of tension still churned beneath the surface.
Makenna’s POV:
I smiled slightly, gently ced the cup I was holding down, and a look of subtle victory crossed my face. “Because I secretly sent her something.”
At my words, the three princes’ heads turned toward me, their eyes sparking with curiosity and interest.
Bryan shot a sharp look at Dominic, who was sitting next to me. He then walked over and sat down on the couch at my other side. He fixed his gaze on me and asked impatiently, “What did you send her?”
Keeping myposure, I exined in a steady voice, “The Pierce family has a few insiders within the Harrison family’s estate. While they don’t have the power to sway big decisions, delivering a letter is an easy task.”
I took a brief pause, a knowing smile ying at the corners of my lips. “In the letter, I disclosed to Evelyn the secret rtionship between Antoni and Molly, rifying that Antoni’s animosity toward me is solely because of Molly. I also made sure she realized that she is just being used in Antoni’s schemes, and that her actions arepletely absurd.”
yton furrowed his brow upon hearing this and moved closer to ask, “Are you sure this will be effective? Will Evelyn actually feel jealous over Antoni and Molly?”
