?Chapter 990:
Bryan’s features turned to stone, his eyes zing with fury, his fists balling until his knuckles gleamed pale.
yton lost hisposure entirely. He shoved Dominic aside and seized my shoulders, his voice quaking. “Makenna, did he force you? Don’t be scared—tell me the truth, I’ll protect you!”
I met yton’s gaze, the raw hurt and resistance in his eyes twisting something bitter inside me. But I could only dip my head, words escaping me.
Dominic stumbled back from the push but didn’t bristle. He kept his grin, his tone sharp and taunting. “yton, why kid yourself? Makenna picked me because we’re bound by love. No force was needed.”
“Shut up!” Bryan’s temper snapped, and he lunged, his fist crashing into Dominic’s jaw with a heavy thud.
Dominic reeled, a thin line of blood trickling from his mouth.
Unruffled, he swiped it away, his smile widening into something bold and icy. “No matter how angry you two are, it won’t change anything. I’m Makenna’s mate now, and that’s set in stone.”
Bryan’s eyes reddened, his face flushed with wrath, his voice a low growl forced through clenched teeth. “Makenna, break the mate bond with him! Right now! He doesn’t deserve you!”
yton’s frame shook faintly, tears welling in his eyes, his words ragged and strained. “Why… I am the one who loves you the most, and you once loved me the most too… How could it be him?”
Dominic let out a softugh, arching a brow, his voice thick with smug satisfaction. “Because I’m the one who matters most to her now.”
The room’s atmosphere turned ice-cold in an instant, thick with an unspoken tension that pressed down like a heavy weight.
Caught between the three of them, I felt my heart twist in chaos, yet no words came to break the suffocating standoff.

Makenna’s POV:
As Dominic’s words faded, a storm brewed in Bryan’s and yton’s eyes, their faces clouding with fury. Their postures stiffened, a subtle shimmer enveloping them, and in an instant, they morphed into snarling wolves. Fangs gleamed as they sprang toward Dominic, guttural growls rumbling from their throats. Dominic’s demeanor shifted to one of steely resolve, his gaze glinting with icy determination. His aura sharpened like a de, and without a second’s pause, he surged forward, transforming mid-stride into a formidable wolf.
The sh was ferocious—ws shed against ws, and the air grew heavy with the metallic tang of blood.
Bryan, swift as a thunderbolt, spotted a chink in Dominic’s armor and lunged, aiming a vicious bite at his hind leg.
With a deft twist, Dominic evaded the crippling strike just in time, retaliating with a swipe of his paw that carved deep, crimson furrows across Bryan’s back. Seizing the moment, yton bolted from the nk, hurling himself skyward with every ounce of strength, determined to pin Dominic to the floor. But Dominic, ever the strategist, had foreseen the move. He dropped low, effortlessly sidestepping as yton’s leap met only empty air.
Yet, for all his prowess, the odds of two against one began to wear Dominic down.
Even so, as he danced away from their assaults, a smirk curled his lips. “Is this the best you can muster?” he taunted, his voice dripping with frost. “Keep iting! Even if you best me, it won’t erase the truth—Makenna and I have sealed the mate bond, irrevocably!”
His words rang with a smug delight, as if the fray only stoked his swagger. The mor of their struggle soon reached the ears of the attendant stationed beyond the door. A timid knock followed, his voice quaking as he called, “Your Highnesses, is all well? Shall I summon aid?”
