Chapter 981

    ?Chapter 981:

Jett coughed lightly, shifting ufortably. “Uh, I’ve got something to take care of. I’ll… I’ll head out now.”

With a flimsy excuse, he darted out of the room.

As his footsteps faded, I nearly exhaled in relief—until a pair of strong hands slid around my waist from behind, gripping me with amanding force I couldn’t resist.

Dominic’s low, resonant voice murmured in my ear,ced with a flicker of irritation. “The way you and Jett carry on really has me questioning things.”

    Makenna’s POV:

“Ah!” I let out a startled gasp as Dominic’s sudden touch and voice caught me off guard.

Jett, who hadn’t wandered far, heard the sound of my cry and hurried back in a sh, rapping anxiously on the door. “Makenna? What’s wrong?”

Dominic, overhearing Jett’s voice, didn’t pause his brazen advances. With a smirk curling his lips, he grew bolder, his broad hand slipping beneath my shirt without hesitation, kneading my tender skin with a roughness that sent shivers through me.

“Mmm…” A tide of humiliation surged within me as I squirmed helplessly, my heart pounding with dread that Jett might catch even the faintest sound from beyond the door.

My defiance only seemed to irk Dominic further. His warm breath grazed my neck, teasing my senses before he began kissing and licking my skin. His tongue danced yfully, leaving a slick trail that made my skin prickle.

A shudder rippled through me, my spine tingling with unease, but he pressed on undeterred. His teeth grazed my skin with a gentle nip, a sharp sting mingling with the sensation.

Lowering his voice to a menacing murmur, he breathed into my ear. “Shall I let him in on what you’re up to?”

    Mor shapters on ?????????ν. ?o??

My blood turned to ice, a storm of shame and fury swirling within me as I fought futilely against his iron grip.

Unfazed by my struggles, Dominic continued his relentless teasing, his fingers toying with my sensitive skin, his movements growing ever more unrestrained. Beyond the door, Jett’s knocks grew more insistent as my silence stretched on. “Makenna? What’s happening? Should Ie in?” he called, his voiceced with worry.

“No… it’s nothing!” I blurted, forcing a veneer of calm into my tone as I raised my voice toward the door. “I just knocked into the table edge by mistake—I’m perfectly fine now!”

Jett’s sigh of relief was audible even through the wood. “If you need me, just holler. I’m right next door and can swoop in to save the day anytime,” he said warmly.

Biting back the tremor in my body, I rushed to shoo Jett off. “Got it. You should turn in early—I’m… I’m truly okay now.”

After a moment, the faint creak of a door opening and closing echoed from next door. Assured that Jett had retreated, I exhaled a shaky breath of relief. Whirling around, I faced Dominic with a mix of mortification and exasperation. “What are you doing here?” I demanded.

With a sharp tug at my already taut skin, Dominic’s icy stare pierced through me, sending a chill down my spine. “If I hadn’t shown up, I would never have guessed you and Jett were so chummy.”

“Ugh…” A wince escaped me, my face crumpling in difort.

Perhaps stirred by my pained sound, Dominic finally loosened his hold. His hot breath brushed my neck as he sank his teeth lightly into my earlobe. “Makenna, do you even have a shred of loyalty?” he whispered. I quivered, puzzled by his words.
