Chapter 958

    ?Chapter 958:

“It burns! It itches! Ahh!” Her cries rang out, sharp and frantic, her face a mask of torment. Soon, angry red welts erupted across her flesh like wildfire, a ghastly spectacle that turned my stomach.

The horrifying disy sent a shiver of dread coursing through me as I retreated a step. My voice quaked as I turned to Jett.

“What… What is that concoction? How can anything wield such terror?”

Jett’s lips curved into a faint, almost sadistic smile, his expression radiating a twisted glee as he casually shook the bottle.

“Oh, this? Just a little special brew,” he said, his tone as breezy as a spring day.

“Once it touches the skin, it unleashes an itch so…”

Maddening, no one can resist. Without the cure, she will scratch herself raw—ulcers, agony, and, well… a rather gruesome end.”

His exnation sent an icy chill down my spine. This wasn’t mere punishment—it was a fiendish torment that made death seem a mercy.

“Ahh! It’s unbearable! Make it stop!” Evelyn’s wails grew more desperate. She curled into a ball, her nails raking at the zing welts, shredding her clothes and painting her skin with blood.

Her eyes dulled, her voice a ragged croak.

    “Please… enough… I’ll spill it all… everything.”

I had pegged Evelyn as a tough nut to crack, but her resolve crumbled faster than I could imagine.

Jett let out a derisive scoff, his gaze dripping with contempt as he dangled the antidotezily in his grip.

“I had hoped for a bit more backbone, but it seems you’re just another spineless soul.”

With a theatrical bend, he leaned down and sprayed the antidote over Evelyn’s trembling form.

    ???????? ???????????????? ????????: g???????ν?????????????

As the remedy took hold, Evelyn’s convulsions eased, her breaths steadying into a fragile rhythm.

Shey sprawled on the floor, her tangled hair stered to her sweat-drenched cheeks, her eyes vacant and lost.

“I’ll talk… I’ll tell you everything,” she murmured, lifting her head weakly, her fearful nce darting between us.

We stood at a wary distance, poised for the floodgates of her confession to swing wide open.

Evelyn’s voice quivered as she spoke, barely above a whisper.

“Cody has been scheming to shove Dayton aside and im Marehelm for himself. So he… he forced me to pin the me on Alden, spinning a tale that he had vited me. Cody figured the three princes, with their soft spot for me, would leap to punish Alden. Even if they couldn’t oust Dayton outright, it would sow enough doubt to erode the Lycan royal family’s faith in him. Once that trust crumbled, Dayton would be finished.”

Her confession hung in the air, and I couldn’t help but smirk to myself. Cody had woven quite the cunning web, hadn’t he? Exploiting Evelyn’s bond with the princes to pull the strings from the shadows—such a slimy, underhanded ploy. Utterly deplorable!

Evelyn dipped her head, her eyes dodging ours like a cornered animal.

“That is all I have got… I swear, I’m not holding anything back…”

I squinted at her, suspicion prickling at the edges of my mind. Cody’s scheme couldn’t be that straightforward. There had to be a deeper game afoot, a bigger plot lurking beneath the surface.
