Chapter 959

    ?Chapter 959:

“Was Cody conspiring with the Wizard n?” I pressed, my voice sharp and unyielding.

Evelyn’s frame shook like a leaf in a storm, her head whipping back and forth in frantic denial.

“I don’t know! I swear, I’ve told you everything—please, just let me go!”

I flicked my gaze toward Jett, catching his eye for a fleeting moment. Then I knelt beside Evelyn, a sly, knowing smile tugging at my lips as I leaned in close, my whisper brushing her ear like a secret too dangerous to speak aloud…

    Makenna’s POV:

With Evelyn’s matter resolved, I prepared to deliver the news to Dayton and Maia. Before I could leave, Bryan reached out and caught my arm, halting my departure.

Mystery flickered in his eyes as he spoke.

“Don’t rush off just yet. We have some matters to discuss.”

A frown crossed my face, confusion setting in briefly. Recognizing there were still details needing finalization, I nodded and followed him into the adjacent room.

The moment the door closed behind us, Bryan seized my shoulders with unexpected force, his grip tight enough to cause difort.

“Makenna, our child…” His voice came out strained and urgent, anxiety unmistakable in every word. “How is our child now? What on earth is going on?”

Tilting my head up to meet his gaze, I gently patted his arm in reassurance.

“Despite the hardships our child suffered at the horse farm, he’s been doing welltely. There’s no need for excessive worry.”

Bryan’s body trembled slightly beneath my touch, the guilt in his eyes deepening with each passing second.

“It’s all my fault…” he finally managed, his voice hoarse andden with helplessness. “If I had realized sooner, our child wouldn’t have suffered like this…”

    ?????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????? ????: g???????ν?????????????

    Slowly, I shook my head.

“Takefort in knowing our child is alive. We still have the chance to see him—isn’t that what truly matters?”

Silence stretched between us before Bryan finally nodded, the weight of guilt in his eyes easing slightly. With visible effort, he released my shoulders and stepped back, his expression aplex tapestry of emotions.

“What about Alden now?” yton interjected, approaching with a serious expression. “Are we just going to leave him in prison?”

ncing toward yton, I felt my own sense of helplessness rise to the surface. Alden’s situation was indeed distressing, but luring out Cody required sacrifice—we had no choice but to keep him imprisoned temporarily.

“For the greater good, Alden must remain behind bars. Only when Cody believes himself safe will he lower his guard,” I dered with unwavering conviction.

Dominic’s shadow fell over me as he leaned closer, his whisper carrying an unmistakable edge of menace.

“Makenna, your concern for Alden seems… excessive, doesn’t it?”

Meeting his suspicious gaze, I couldn’t suppress an eye roll before deliberately shifting our focus. “What about Cody’s rtionship with the king? If we expose his treachery, could we finally bring him to justice?”

A cial smile touched Dominic’s lips as he nodded, his eyes glittering with cold purpose. “Treason is unforgivable. Our father’s favor won’t protect Cody from the consequences of betrayal.”

At this point, yton spoke up, his expression worried. “Easier said than done. Gathering evidence against someone as calcting as Cody presents extraordinary challenges. He maintains our father’s absolute trust while guarding his true nature with meticulous care. Without irrefutable proof, any premature move would serve only as a warning to him.”
