Chapter 919

    ?Chapter 919:

I sighed inwardly. It seemed the butler had truly been loyal to Cody, to the point that he had tried to sully Dayton’s reputation even before his death.

Dayton, however, didn’t seem fazed by what had happened. Instead, he smiled and said, “Some things are meant to be done once, Mr. Harrison.”

Cody’s face darkened at this. He turned to the three princes and said, his voice pleading, “Your Highnesses, please deliver your judgment.”

Bryan’s cold voice cut through the room like a knife as he said, “Why would anyone believe the word of a dead man? You’d do well to keep your subordinates in line, Cody. This shouldn’t repeat itself again.”

Cody’s expression darkened even further. However, he managed to force a smile and said, “Yes, Your Highness. I’ll make sure my people behave properly.”

“Now that everything’s out in the open, I trust you’ll release Edward immediately,” Dayton said with a smirk.

Cody’s jaw tightened noticeably. However, he gritted his teeth and said, “Bring Edward here.”

Before long, Jett was brought into the room. Tears welled up in my eyes. Ignoring the curious gazes, I rushed to his side and grabbed his arm. “Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? Let me have a look!”

    Makenna’s POV:

Jett quickly shook his head, forcing a small, strained smile as he murmured, “I didn’t get hurt. I’m fine, really.”

Even as he spoke, his gaze drifted downward, and a flicker of guilt crossed his face. In a voice barely above a whisper, he muttered, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you worry.”

Relief washed over me, the tension in my chest finally easing, like a heavy weight lifting off my shoulders.

“As long as you’re okay, that’s what matters,” I reassured him gently. The atmosphere shifted abruptly as a voice, ced with a touch of longing, broke the silence from behind. “You two seem inseparable—so deeply in love, aren’t you?”

    ???????? ???????????? ????????: ??????????ν?????????????

It was Dayton, his tone carrying a teasing edge.

Caught off guard, I spun around to face him, only to feel the weight of several intense stares boring into my back, sending a shiver down my spine.

My gaze darted instinctively toward the source, and there they were—the three princes, their eyes locked on me with an unsettling intensity. The room grew heavy with tension as their expressions darkened, casting a shadow over the space.

Even Alden, who was typically calm andposed, wore a frown, his lips pressed tightly together, his displeasure evident.

“Ahem…” I cleared my throat awkwardly, the weight of their stares making me squirm. My eyes flickered nervously as I took a few cautious steps back, creating some distance between Jett and myself.

Once we left Cody’s residence, Dayton turned to the princes and bowed deeply, his voice sincere. “Your Highnesses, today’s resolution would not have been possible without your intervention. I am truly grateful.”

Bryan responded with a dismissive wave, his tone indifferent, “It was nothing.”

After the exchange, Dayton gave another slight bow. “Now that the matter is settled, I shall take my leave.”

Relief washed over me, and I quickly seized the opportunity to follow Dayton, hoping to slip away from the princes’ attention. But before we could take more than a few steps, Bryan’s icy voice cut through the air like a de. “Wait.”

I froze, a sense of dread settling over me.
