Chapter 920

    Chapter 920:

His next words were sharp andmanding. “Ailyn, stay behind.” My heart raced as I stood rooted to the spot, my scalp prickling with unease.

Dayton’s face flickered with concern, as though he wanted to interject but hesitated.

Jett, however, stepped forward protectively, positioning himself between me and the princes. With a strained smile, he spoke cautiously. “Your Highnesses, Ailyn is my wife. May I ask why you wish to speak with her alone?”

Alden, sensing the rising tension, stepped in to mediate. “Your Highnesses, Ailyn was quite shaken earlier at the Harrison family’s mansion. She needs rest and time to recover.”

Bryan’s expression darkened at Jett’s and Alden’s words. His piercing gaze swept over them like a storm, his voice cold and threatening. “Do you dare defy me? Are you asking for death?”

He exuded amanding aura, his words heavy with authority and menace.

Yet, neither Jett nor Alden backed down. Jett took a step forward, ready to argue further, but fearing the situation might spiral out of control, I took a deep breath and gently pushed him aside.

“Perhaps the princes simply wish to ask me something. I’ll return shortly,” I said softly, trying to ease the tension and reassure Jett and Alden.

Jett’s face was etched with reluctance, his eyes filled with worry as they lingered on me. He reached out, grasping my arm as if unwilling to let me go.

I gave him a subtle shake of my head, silently urging him to stay calm. After a tense moment, Jett reluctantly released his grip and stepped aside, though his gaze remained fixed on me, brimming with concern. Alden opened his mouth as if to speak, but seeing how things had unfolded, he simply sighed and remained silent, his expressionplicated as he stood to the side.

The instant the three princes and Dayton departed, the taut string of tension that had been propping me up snapped. The mask of sereneposure I had worn crumbled to dust.

Bang! With a thunderous crash, Ished out, my arm slicing through the air like a scythe, sending the delicate ornaments perched on the nearby table tumbling to the floor in a glorious, chaotic heap. Unsatisfied, I drove my foot into the chair beside me with the force of a tempest.

The fragile porcin met its demise in a heartbeat, splintering into a thousand glittering fragments, while the chair keeled over with a jarring crash that scraped against my nerves like nails on a chalkboard.

“Damn it!” I bellowed, my voice a roaring inferno as I unleashed my pent-up fury within the confines of my chamber. Everything within arm’s reach became fair game, reduced to rubble as I rampaged like an unchecked storm.

I lost track of how long I raged before the room finally settled into an eerie stillness, transformed into a tableau of absolute ruin. The once orderly collection of ornaments nowy strewn across the floor like fallen soldiers, mute witnesses to the storm of my fury. Breathing heavily, I felt the wildfire of my anger begin to ebb.

It was only then that my eyes caught the still form of the butler, sprawled not far off. He rested in eternal quiet, blood seeping from beneath him, painting the floor in a stark, unmissable red.

Brushing off my attire with a flick of my wrist, I turned to the hovering servants and delivered my orders with icy precision. “Remove the butler’s body and see to it that he isid to rest with dignity. Ensure his kin receive a handsome sum—don’t dare skimp on it.”

“Yes, sir!” came their swift reply, and with careful steps, they lifted the butler’s remains, moving as if treading on eggshells beneath the weight of the room’s oppressive air.
