Chapter 894

    ?Chapter 894:

Once in the garden, the fresh air hit me, and I took a deep breath, feeling much more at ease.

I had hardly settled down when a pair of strong arms suddenly wrapped around me from behind.

    “Who!”

My heart skipped a beat as I froze in shock.

The next instant, a familiar scent filled my nostrils, and my tensed body rxed. In a voice filled with feigned annoyance, I said, “Why aren’t you inside, Prince Dominic? What are you doing out here?”

Dominic nuzzled his face against my neck. “I haven’t seen you in days, and I missed you,” he murmured.

    Makenna’s POV:

I burst intoughter upon hearing Dominic’s words.

I hadn’t pegged Dominic as someone who used sweet words.

I remembered him as cold and distant. Seeing him affectionate was a new experience.

Dominic let out a soft hum and nted a flurry of kisses on my neck, sending shivers through my body.

He kissed my ear and murmured, “I forgot to ask. You are going to tell me who exactly Edward is and why he became your husband.” His voice carried a hint of danger, causing me to hesitate.

Dominic, however, wasn’t pleased by my hesitation.

He gently but firmly gripped my chin and forced me to meet his eyes. “Do you still not trust me? I defied my father just to save you. Isn’t that enough to prove my sincerity?” he asked.

I smiled resignedly at his question.

    ?????????????? ???????? ????: ?????????ν????????﹒?????

The situation was far moreplicated than he thought. Moreover, the secrets of the past and our true identities…

As I dwelled deeply on this thought, the warmth that had enveloped me due to our reunion began to disappear.

The joy of seeing him was swept away as I realized that there were too many unsettled grievances between us.

Dominic noticed the sudden change in my emotions. “Is anything wrong, Makenna?” he asked, his voice full of concern.

I shook my head and then changed the topic. “How are Grace and Alice? Have you heard any news about them?”

Dominic smiled smugly before saying, “You’ll have to pay a little price if you want to know.”

I red at him and retorted, “The same old trick again? I’m not in the mood for one of your games.”

Dominic leaned closer to me. I felt his warm breath on my ear as he whispered, “We’re staying at thergest hotel in Marehelm. I’ll be waiting for you there tonight.”

With that, Dominic gently patted my head, turned away, and left.

I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.

It seemed Dominic had not changed.

I felt a mix of annoyance and amusement as I watched him leave. I turned, and for a moment, I saw a shadow flitting at the corner of my eyes.

Now alert, I took a closer look at the spot where I had seen the shadow, but I saw no one there.
