Chapter 799

    ?Chapter 799:

I set my fork and knife down with a sigh. “It was Antoni. He dropped by today to cause trouble.”

Alice and Evie exchanged a nce, concern shing in their eyes at the mention of his name. Alice pressed, “What exactly went down?”

I told them everything about Antoni’s visit.

Alice’s face clouded with worry. “Do you think Antoni could have figured out you’re a white wolf?”

A knot tightened in my stomach. “I’m not sure. The wound was small, and the blood covered it. He might have noticed, but I doubt he’d connect it to the white wolf n.”

“You should talk to the princes,” Alice suggested after a pause. “They will have a n.”

“Yeah, or talk to Jett,” Evie added.

I rubbed my temples in frustration, letting out a heavy sigh. “It’s fine. Antoni’s lost the king’s favor, so I don’t think he’ll make a scene again anytime soon. We’ll just wait and see.”

I picked up my fork and knife again, but my appetite had vanished. All I could do was hope things would settle on their own.

Alice and Evie exchanged another look, both of them worried but unable to offer anything more helpful.

They simply promised to help me if I needed anything.

After dinner, I made my way back to my room, feeling the weight of the day on my shoulders.

The room was still, save for the sound of my own breathing.

I copsed onto the bed and stared up at the ceiling, reying the events at the library in my mind like a broken record.

    ???????? ???????? ???????? ???? g?????????????ν??????????.????????

I couldn’t shake the thoughts of what happened with Jett. My chest felt tight, like something was twisting inside me.

“How could I do something like that with Jett?” I muttered, pulling at my hair in frustration. “It’s Antoni’s fault. Damn that cursed potion!”

The events of the day kept me tossing and turning in bed, my mind racing.

I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to take a walk to clear my head.

But as soon as I opened the door, I froze. Standing there in front of me was Jett.

The sight of him immediately brought everything from earlier flooding back, and a blush crept up my neck.

I nervously clutched the hem of my coat, trying to hide the embarrassment that made my heart race. “W-What are you doing here?”

Jett, usually so calm and collected, lookedpletely flustered. His eyes darted around, and after a long, awkward silence, he finally spoke, his voice unsure. “Makenna, I’m here to apologize.”

I blinked, caught off guard. “Apologize? For what?”

Then, to my shock, Jett tossed a knife at my feet, a strange, symbolic gesture, before dropping to one knee.

    Jett’s POV:

My actions caused Makenna to take a step back in fear.

“What… What do you want?” she asked.

I lowered my head, unable to meet her gaze.

“Punish me with that knife. I can’t forgive myself for what I’ve done. If your mother knew what I’ve done, she would never forgive me,” I said, my voice heavy with guilt.
