?Chapter 768:
I then fixed Alice with a steely gaze and asked, “So Alice, are you really sure you want to hear this?”
Alice listened to everything I had said, a look of shock on her face.
However, the shocked look was reced by one of determination. Finally, she dered, “Makenna, I’m always with you no matter what happens. Even if it means going against the Lycan royal family, I’ll stand with you!”
Her unwavering support touched me deeply, and I smiled. Turning to Evie, I asked, “Did you know that Martin was Jett all along?”
My question shocked Alice, and a look of guilt passed through Evie’s eyes.
Evie lowered her head in guilt and said, “I did know, but I only found outter that Jett was actually one of the subordinates of Josie, the Saint of the white wolf n.” So it was true!
I nodded thoughtfully, my mind drifting back to that time before I left the pce to save Martin. I recalled Evie’s hesitance then.
Frowning, I asked, “Evie, Jett is incredibly skilled, yet he let himself be captured so easily by Antoni. That must have been a deliberate action. What is he really after?”
Evie tensed at my question. She lowered her head as though struggling to decide whether to tell me the truth. I already had a vague idea as to why.
I stared intently at Evie and asked, “Is Jett trying to drive a wedge between me and the three princes?”
Evie’s head shot up, and the look on her face was one of surprise, as though wondering how I had figured it out. I smiled bitterly and said, “His actions are so easy to read. How could I not see it? It’s a brilliant n, I have to admit. He seeded. There is now an irreparable rift between me and the three princes. We can never go back to how things were.”
I then took a deep breath to steady myself and said, “Evie, tell me Jett’s n.”
???????????????????? ???? ?????????ν??????[?]??????
“I overheard Jett nning his capture by Antoni during Evelyn’s episode. It was all to make you lose faith in the three princes…” Evie thenid out every detail of Jett’s carefullyid n.
Although I knew part of Jett’s n, the full scope of it left me aghast.
“Jett’s mind is truly wicked. Every step he took was calcted. He is an insidious and utterly ruthless man!” I said through gritted teeth.
Makenna’s POV:
“Are you upset?” Evie asked anxiously.
I shook my head, a resigned smile on my face. “I’m not upset. I’m just a little sad. We’ve known each other for so long, yet you hid all these things from me. That saddens me,” I answered, disappointment evident in my tone.
“No, that’s not true. I didn’t want to hide all these things from you. I just hesitated after learning about your true identity. I was afraid you wouldn’t be able to handle the truth. Please don’t be mad at me,” Evie pleaded. Alice, who had been listening all this while, finally understood what was happening.
Frowning, she asked, “The white wolves have aided and supported the Lycan royal family for generations. The females of the white wolves can only marry descendants or members of the Lycan royal family. Why then did the king use the white wolves of rebellion? Why did he annihte the entire white wolf n?”
Evie shrugged and said, “I don’t know. I just overheard those things. If you need answers, you should ask Jett.”
“Where is Jett now?” I asked.
“I don’t know. He hasn’te to see me ofte. I heard the princes have sent people in search of him. I think he’s in hiding,” Evie answered.
