Chapter 767

    ?Chapter 767:

He sighed heavily, the sound almost tangible, and said, “But Alice… she’s the princes’ sex ve. No matter how much I care for her, that’s the cold, hard truth. She belongs to them, not me. Between us… there’s just no future.”

His words struck a chord in my chest, leaving a lump in my throat. I wanted tofort him, but the right words just wouldn’te.

Amon forced a crooked smile, brushing it off like it didn’t hurt as much as it clearly did. “It’s fine. As long as I can watch over her from a distance and see her happy, that’s enough for me.”

By then, the car had rolled to a stop outside my house.

I stepped out and turned to him, feeling an ache for the man who’d justid his heart bare. “Thanks for the ride, Amon. Why don’t youe in for a bit?”

But Amon shook his head firmly, still rooted in the driver’s seat. “No, I’ve got to get back. Prince Bryan’s expecting me.”

His tone left no room for argument, so I just nodded and watched as he drove away.

Taking a deep breath, I unlocked the door and stepped inside, only to find Alice pacing like a cat on a hot tin roof, her hands wringing nervously.

“I can’t just sit here twiddling my thumbs while Makenna’s stuck with those princes!” she muttered to herself, clearly on edge. “So what if they’re royalty? I’d rather risk my neck than leave her with them a second longer!”

Her voice was tinged with panic. “What if they lose their minds and hurt her? What if…”

I couldn’t help but chuckle softly as I called out, “Rx, Alice. I’m right here.”

“Ah!” Alice squeaked, spinning around. The second her eyesnded on me, she bolted over and started patting me down like I’d juste back from a war zone. “Makenna! You’re okay! They didn’ty a finger on you, did they?”

Evie, standing nearby with red-rimmed eyes, rushed forward too. “Makenna, how in the world did you manage to get out of there?”

    ???????????? ???????????? ???? ??????????????????.??????

I let out a long, tired sigh. “The princes let me go.”

Alice’s expression darkened faster than a stormy sky. “Those royal jerks! They think they can do whatever they please just because they wear crowns. It’s disgusting!” The mere mention of the princes made exhaustion seep into my bones. “Let’s not talk about them,” I mumbled, waving it off.

Alice immediately nodded, her voice softening. “Alright, no more prince talk.”

Turning to Evie, I straightened, my tone growing serious. “I need to ask you something important.”

Evie’s face shifted, her demeanor turning as solemn as mine. “Anything you need. Just ask, and I’ll tell you the truth.”

    Makenna’s POV:

“What happened between you two? What’s going on?” Alice asked, clearly confused.

She looked at me, and then at Evie, her expression full of confusion.

Evie turned to me, her gaze silently asking if I wanted to share everything with Alice.

I smiled faintly and said, “There’s nothing about my situation that Alice can’t know.”

Alice, grasping the gravity of the issue, bit her lip nervously and whispered, “I don’t mind if this is something I shouldn’t hear.”

“This is aplicated matter. It involves the grudges between the white wolves and the Lycan royal family. There’s a chance that I might be a mortal enemy of the Lycan royal family.”
