    With Baylee’s support, Ellie sat on a bench. In the glow of the setting sun, she looked warm and beautiful. A rxed smile lit up her face. Kaiden hadn’t seen her smile like that in a long time.


    A middle-aged man, holding Akira, walked into themunity.


    “Briggs, I really love the atmosphere here. Thanks!” Akira leaned on Briggs yfully, hiding the disgust in her eyes. But as she took in one of the most upscale neighborhoods in Critport, her disgust was reced by greed.


    If she had Ellie’s wealth and resources, she wouldn’t need to rely on this revolting old man for materialforts!


    As she pondered this, Akira suddenly noticed several women nearby. Ellie and Baylee’s looks and demeanor were so striking that they drew attention effortlessly. She recognized the young girl with them as Flossie. Even the woman she didn’t recognize was wearing limited-edition clothes.


    Remembering her earlier suspicions, Akira immediately looked into Ellie’s eyes. Once praised as the most captivating by their professors, Ellie’s eyes now appeared ssy and vacant, unresponsive to anything.


    Clearly… she was blind. Ellie was indeed blind!


    Akira felt a surge of excitement that she couldn’t conceal.


    No wonder Ellie hadn’t been attending any eventstely. She missed the alumni association gatherings and turned down many coboration invitations.


    “Honey, you seem so excited,” Briggs said, lifting Akira’s chin and kissing her in public.


    Despite hating Briggs’s bad breath, Akira smiled sweetly and replied, “Briggs, I enjoy a lot about our time together. You truly brighten my day.”


    Briggs, pleased,ughed heartily.


    Hearing the noise, Flossie nced over and saw a middle-aged man with a round belly leading a familiar young woman into a nearby building.


    After the meeting, Kaiden took care of some work documents.


    It was nine in the evening, and it was time for him to head home.


    He took the elevator upstairs and knocked on the door.


    When May answered and saw Kaiden, she quickly shut the door.


    Kaiden, puzzled, stood there for a moment before receiving a message from May.


    “Mr. Thorpe, Miss Curtis is staying with your wife tonight. You might need to stay somewhere else overnight.”


    Kaiden sighed as he stared at May’s message on his phone.


    Baylee had always been loyal to Ellie. She would never help deceive Ellie. She was always on Ellie’s side.


    So, he definitely couldn’t appear in front of Baylee.


    Kaiden felt frustrated when Baylee chose to stay over. He stared nkly at the mousse cake he had bought just for Ellie. He couldn’t even get inside, much less deliver the cake!


    Ellie was resting on one side of the bed while Baylee sat on the other, her hand lovingly resting on Ellie’s round belly.


    “Sweet baby, I’m your godmother! Did you hear that? It’s your godmother speaking. Try to remember my voice, okay? Later on, I’ll take you to the amusement park. When you’re older, we’ll visit Oblurg to see the northern lights, andter still, we’ll go scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef! If you’re a boy, I’ll race with you! If you’re a girl, I’ll take you horseback riding!”
