?Chapter 1064:
“Glenn mentioned you y the violin and piano. Did he send you to me because of your musical skills?” Ellie asked.
“Yeah,” Kaiden replied.
“I have a violin here. Why don’t you y a few of your favorite pieces for me?” Ellie suggested.
She then asked May to retrieve the violin from the study for Kaiden.
As Kaiden took the violin in his hands, he felt an odd sense of familiarity. Sure enough, when he looked closer, he saw two letters engraved on the neck: It was a violin from his younger days, crafted by the famous Guarneri family. Although he hadn’t cared much for it, Brisa had thought it a waste for such a fine instrument to just sit unused, so she had given it away one day.
It turned out she had given it to Ellie.
Kaiden stared at Ellie, his gaze intense. Had their connection started so early?
“This violin was a gift to me. It’s a rare and valuable instrument. I haven’t yed it in years, but its sound and pitch should still be fine. Why not give it a go?” Ellie suggested.
Kaiden set the violin on his left shoulder and began to y.
He moved through a range of pieces, from the ssical Violin Concerto in D Major to the modern Confession Night. He started off a bit rusty but soon grew more confident.
Kaiden was actually quite skilled with the violin, but he had no passion for it. He was determined not to be like Brisa, who got caught up in romantic pursuits and saw learning an instrument as pointless.
He never thought he’de to value Brisa’s stern teaching from his childhood.
Ellie reclined on a chaise lounge with her eyes closed, a gentle smile ying on her lips as she listened.
Kaiden couldn’t remember many pieces, but he managed to y Confession Night, because Ellie had performed it the previous year, making it familiar to him. He was about to pull out his phone to check for more sheet music when Ellie spoke up suddenly.
“This violin should have belonged to my husband,” Ellie said. “But he probably didn’t have much talent for it, so it was passed on to me.”

Kaiden’s left hand gripped the violin’s neck a little tighter, his thumb lightly brushing over the engraved letters.
“This violin was a gift from your husband?” he asked.
May and June grew increasingly impressed with Kaiden, amazed at how effortlessly he posed such a question!
Ellie shook her head. “He probably doesn’t even realize his violin is with me.” Kaiden felt a sudden lump in his throat for some unknown reason.
Ellie went to bed early for the sake of her pregnancy. Kaiden left quietly for work. Bruce had already acted swiftly, buying arge apartment directly below Ellie’s. It was a hasty purchase, and the previous owner had doubled the price.
June picked up a book to read to Ellie.
“My husband used to read to me before bed too,” Ellie said as she settled down. June thought to herself, “This is exactly what your husband asked for, knowing you have a habit of enjoying bedtime stories.”
“Ma’am, there are a few things I’m unsure whether I should ask,” June said.
