Chapter 1063

    ?Chapter 1063:

Ellie’s fingers, which had been rxed on the table, tensed up a bit.

After a brief pause, she offered a small smile and said, “You can use that name if you wish.”

    “Okay, Mrs. Thorpe.”

For some reason, even with his strange tone, Ellie’s heart continued to race uncontrobly. She couldn’t help but remember how Kaiden had teased her, repeatedly calling her “Mrs. Thorpe”—like a gentle touch on her heart that left her feeling thrilled and enchanted.

With issues at GT Group still pending, Kaiden hurried back to the office in the afternoon. In just four hours, he had two meetings without a break. While other executives took moments to rest, he kept approving documents, working like an ungging machine.

But as soon as his phone rm rang at five-thirty, he stopped working. Kaiden firmly set down the papers in his hands and got up to leave.

It was time to head to Ellie’s ce and start dinner.

“Mr. Thorpe, Mr. rkson has been trying to book appointments with you for a while. Last week, you arranged tonight’s dinner with him,” Bruce informed Kaiden as he caught up with him.

“Cancel it. I’m swamped,” Kaiden replied brusquely.

Bruce hesitated for a moment before matching Kaiden’s pace and inquiring, “Sir, have you and your wife not patched things up yet?” Kaiden shot him a frosty nce.

Bruce managed a nervous smile. “You haven’t been around the officetely, and as soon as you showed up, you scolded all the department heads. Everyone’s saying that only Mrs. Thorpe could make you act this way. You’re a great husband! Only someone who truly cares would behave like this!” Hisst words were meant to soothe Kaiden and ease his irritation.

Kaiden went along with it and said, “It’s good they understand. Tell them not toe to me unless they have a solid reason.” Bruce was taken aback.

“Surely they must have reasons to approach you!” he thought to himself. As a seasoned assistant, Bruce was used to this, though. He asked, “Mr. Thorpe, where should we send the documents that still need processing?”

Kaiden provided Ellie’s address. “Send them to the entrance of thisplex. I’ll go through them in the car.”

“In the car?” Bruce was surprised. “Do you need me to get you an apartment in thisplex?”

“Yes,” Kaiden replied. He had initially nned to decline, but having an apartment could allow him to practice cooking and hold meetings in an emergency.

Two dayster, Ellie decided she wanted noodles for dinner. While noodles were easy to prepare, getting them just right was a challenge.

“Mr. Thornton, you weren’t actually a cook at Glenn’s ce, were you?” Ellie asked after sampling the noodles.

Kaiden caught onto her hint. “Do they taste bad?”

“Well, not exactly,” Ellie said, choosing her words carefully. “It’s just… your cooking doesn’t seem professional.”

Initially, she believed he only asionally served subpar dishes, but after several meals, it became clear that he simplycked the necessary skills.

Didn’t that imply they tasted bad?

Kaiden picked up on Ellie’s subtle disapproval.

He decided to call the head chef from Moon Manor to give him some cooking lessons.

Kaiden’s cooking wasn’t actually that bad, especially since he followed recipes. The taste was decent, but Ellie had a very discerning pte.
