?Chapter 1060:
They hadn’t been informed by Glenn about Ellie’s food preferences. People often said that pregnant women had slower thinking processes, didn’t they?
Nevertheless, Kaiden observed that Ellie remained as sharp as ever. He corrected himself, “Your husband informed Mr. Lambert of your food preferences.”
After a brief pause, Ellie looked down and sipped her soymilk, responding with, “Alright.” Kaiden’s phone began to ring.
The caller ID disyed Bruce’s name.
Ellie remarked, “Who’s phone is that? Feel free to answer it. There aren’t many rules here.”
Kaiden then took the call from Bruce.
It was regarding thepany. There were numerous documents waiting for his signature. Without Kaiden at the office, the business couldn’t operate smoothly.
Kaiden nced at Ellie, who was quietly having her breakfast, and told Bruce, “I’ll be there within an hour.”
“You’re a cook. You don’t need to hang around here all the time. Just make sure I get three meals a day,” Ellie said.
She remembered the cook mentioning he had a lover. Due to her resemnce to his lover, he often gazed at her intensely, making her ufortable.
He seemed eager to leave. Could it be about his lover?
“I’ll be back to make lunch,” Kaiden said as he stood up, grabbed his car keys, and asked, “What do you want for lunch?”
“Boiled pork slices and spicy diced chicken,” Ellie replied.
Kaiden almost wanted to dissuade her from eating something spicy, but then it urred to him that it was better for her to eat something spicy than nothing at all.
After Kaiden left, June tidied up the table and went to wash the dishes. Ellie asked May, “By the way, what’s the cook’s name?” She realized she didn’t know his name.
May blinked. She had no idea how to reply. Glenn hadn’t mentioned it.

“We don’t know. We hadn’t met before. You can ask himter,” May replied.
“I find him a bit odd,” Ellie said, resting her chin on her hands. “His walking pace yesterday was different from today. Usually, an adult’s walking habits are set, and their gait and rhythm don’t change easily.”
Of course, his walking habits were different! Kaiden was pretending to throw off suspicion!
May could only smile awkwardly to cover up the truth. “There could be an exception. Maybe he has trouble walking.”
After some thought, Ellie agreed and didn’t question it further.
Later that day, Daniel arrived with Susanna, who immediately felt sorry for Ellie and began to cry. Susanna med herself for not being more careful with Ellie before.
In an effort to distract Susanna, Ellie changed the subject, asking, “How’s your study going?”
At the mention of studies, Susanna stopped crying and looked embarrassed. Daniel cut in, “She studied art at Critport University for you. But honestly, she didn’t know anything about art. She almost failed her finals.”
Susanna tugged at Daniel’s clothes, trying to stop him from speaking badly about her in front of Ellie.
Ellie seized the moment to ask Susanna what she didn’t understand and then exined it to her, sessfully diverting Susanna’s attention.
