?Chapter 1012:
Kaiden pulled her into his arms with force, trying to calm her charged emotions.
“It’s my fault. I didn’t mean to keep it from you.”
Ellie pushed him away stubbornly. “Let me go.”
“El, I should have told you,” Kaiden admitted, remorseful.
Ellie turned her head and gave him a cold stare.
For a moment, his handsome face betrayed confusion. He had already apologized, so what else did she want? What more was expected of him?
Angry, Ellie turned to leave, but he held her hand tightly, stopping her in her tracks.
“El, getting upset isn’t good for the baby,” Kaiden said, knowing their baby was now her top priority.
Ellie looked at him icily. “But seeing you makes me upset.”
Kaiden was momentarily at a loss for words.
Ellie forcefully pulled her hand from his grasp and motioned to a female bodyguard. “Help me back to the car.” She didn’t want to argue with Kaiden there.
Kaiden tried to stop Ellie, but Harry intercepted him before he could.
“Mr. Thorpe, don’t you intend to rify why you visited Carole as soon as you returned to Critport, and why you came to visit her again while my boss was resting? You didn’t apany my boss to her prenatal appointments, but you took your former rumored girlfriend to the hospital instead. Don’t you find it absurd?” Harry’s calm and deliberate words hit a nerve.
“Imagine if my boss had been away for two weeks and, on her first day back, went to see Howard. Imagine if both you and Howard were unwell, and my boss left you to go with Howard to the hospital. Imagine if you confronted her, and she only said, ‘Sorry, I didn’t mention it beforehand.’ How would you react?”
As Harry continued his hypothetical scenario, Kaiden’s expression darkened.
Kaiden was starting to feel angry.

Harry’s words dawned on Kaiden all at once.
Kaiden looked at Harry with newfound intensity. “Her people are loyal and protective.”
Harry, Garfield, and Freddy were all like that.
Harry gave a slight smile. “Exactly. It seems your understanding of my boss is still insufficient.”
A caged canary was an easy target. But Ellie was never a canary. She was like a majestic eagle—strong, dignified, and far from fragile.
After losing her sight, Carole’s hearing had be sharper.
“Was that Ellie’s voice just now?” Carole probed, her question tinged with twisted excitement.
No one responded to her.
Suddenly, Carole eximed, “Ellie, are you jealous? Kaiden visits me every day, and today he personally escorted me to the hospital.” Ellie had already walked away, oblivious to Carole’s words.
Kaiden turned back, his expression showing disgust as he looked at Carole.
Someone approached Carole.
Unable to see, Carole sensed that this person was not the familiar Kaiden and mistook him for Ellie. Her expression grew more menacing and distorted. “Ellie, Kaiden and I have known each other for over a decade. Our rtionship wouldn’t end just like that! You’re upset, aren’t you? Hahaha!”
