?Chapter 974:
“He asked me for help,” Flossie replied honestly. “His secretary was sick, and I had free time today.”
Baylee raised an eyebrow.
The three of them chatted for a while before Ellie and Baylee left first, leaving Flossie to wait for Levy.
“Levy doesn’t have just one secretary. I think he has his eye on Flossie,” Baylee murmured as she held Ellie’s arm while they descended the stairs.
“Thankfully, Flossie hasn’t caught on,” Ellie smiled at Baylee and asked, “How are things between you and Marvin?”
“We’re just seeing each other casually,” Baylee replied.
Though Baylee said “casually,” joy shone in her eyes.
Rubbing her pregnant belly, Ellie joked, “Can you find a godfather for my baby before it’s born?”
“No way! It’s only been less than six months since we’ve been an item!” Baylee protested.
But they had actually been together for a year.
“Not necessarily. They say you’re the future Mrs. Hill,” Ellie remarked.
As soon as Ellie finished, they both noticed two cars parking nearby.
One was a discreet yet luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom. The other was a cool andmanding Jeep Wrangler.
Kaiden and Marvin stood together, chatting. When Ellie and Baylee approached, the two men nced over.
Ellie and Baylee had called their partners after work, and the men met outside.
“Feeling tired?” Kaiden inquired. He wrapped his arm around Ellie’s waist and nted a customary kiss on her forehead.
“I’m not tired,” Ellie reassured him.
Aware that Baylee and Marvin were nearby, Ellie attempted to evade Kaiden’s kiss. However, out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of Marvin kissing Baylee directly on the lips. Ellie was at a loss for words.
Baylee, equally stunned, stood speechless beside her. Neither of them knew how to react.
The two women exchanged disgruntled looks with their partners, then stepped back and held each other’s hands tightly. Love was a private affair for Ellie, and she believed others shouldn’t meddle in it.
Leaving the studio, she pushed aside thoughts of Levy and Flossie. She hadn’t anticipated Levy showing up that night at Moon Manor with several baby products as gifts.
“Mr. Sanders, do you have something to discuss with me?” Ellie asked, her tone cool.
Levy had already sent baby products once before, and now he had again, so it was clear he had more than just gifts on his mind.
“Since you were upset today, I’vee to apologize.”
“Mr. Sanders, how are you aware of my displeasure?” Ellie feigned surprise. “I’ve heard that you are not the type to get back with your ex-girlfriends.” Being astute, Levy grasped the underlying message.
“That is not the case,” Levy refuted.
