Chapter 939

    ?Chapter 939:

Shaking her head, Flossie replied, “Dr. Stephens, I know you’re busy. You can go and take care of your business first. Please don’t worry about me.” She eagerly watched the red light above the operating room.

Theo wasn’t upied at the moment and was even in the mood for chatting. “Miss Yount, when Levy came out of the consulting room, you seemed veryposed, unlike now.”

Flossie tensed up at his words. She had hidden her true feelings from Levy effectively. Since the tense moments right after the ident, she had made an effort to behave like a regr friend. She didn’t want to overstep the line.

However, she had overlooked the fact that there was an observer, Theo, around them.

“Don’t be nervous. As for anything told to me in confidence, my lips are sealed,” Theo reassured Flossie.

The surgery was over. Levy had been moved to a regr hospital room.

When Levy woke up, the first thing he saw was a figure in a doctor’s coat.

“You look like you didn’t want to see me,” Theo said, looking at Levy in bed. “I’ve been here for a while.”

Ignoring Theo’s teasing, Levy asked directly, “Where’s Flossie?”

    “She’s gone,” Theo replied.

    Levy frowned, clearly displeased.

“She went out to get you some porridge,” Theo exined.

“Has Edwin ever crossed swords with you since you were kids, Theo?” Levy asked, his tone irritated.

Theo’s teasing nature was evident whenever he was around Edwin.

“Even though Edwin wasn’t the brightest, he always respected me, his older brother,” Theo remarked with a shrug.

“What do you think of Flossie?” Levy asked suddenly.

“Miss Yount is kind and intelligent,” Theo answered, eyeing him suspiciously. “In essence, she’s a fine woman.”

Levy’s expression darkened as he nced at Theo.

“Well… What do you mean?” Theo eximed in surprise. “Are you asking about my opinion on Flossie in a romantic sense? Levy, are you sure everything’s alright with your head?”

“I was just asking casually,” Levy said, looking away. “I simply feel like you two have a lot inmon and get along well.”

Just as Theo was about to rify, he stopped and studied Levy carefully. “Levy, are you feeling jealous?”

At that moment, the door swung open.

Levy suppressed the words he wanted to say.

“You’re awake!” Flossie ced the porridge on the table. “Are you hungry? I got you some porridge.”

    “Alright, thank you.”

Levy acted casually, as if he hadn’t just been discussing Flossie moments ago.
