Chapter 938

    ?Chapter 938:

They were earnest and focused, discussing technical terms that Levy couldn’t follow. He didn’t catch Theo’s exact words, but he noticed Flossie’s eyes light up with happiness as she looked at Theo. For some reason, Levy felt a pang in his heart.

Momentster, Flossie spotted Levy and hurried over.

Seeing Levy in good spirits, she let out a sigh of relief.

The doctor briefed Flossie on Levy’s condition and the surgical ns. The operating room was now prepared.

After pondering for a moment, Flossie asked Levy, “Do you want me to notify… your family?”

    “No, thanks,” Levy replied calmly.

It was only then that Flossie realized her mistake.

His parents had passed away long ago. When Levy was young, he had been a well-known orphan in her hometown.

“I mean your friend, or… girlfriend,” Flossie awkwardly uttered, feeling the strangeness of the word “girlfriend.”

As an ex-girlfriend, she was asking her former boyfriend if he needed her help to reach out to his current girlfriend!

“No, thanks,” Levy replied calmly again.

    “Alright,” Flossie acknowledged.

“I don’t have a girlfriend at the moment.”

Flossie was at a loss for words at his sudden revtion. She knew she shouldn’t feel anything, but after hearing that, she felt a surge of life in her withered heart. Yet, she reined in her emotions with rationality.

The nurse wheeled Levy into the operating room. He looked handsome and charming. Unable to resist, the nurse remarked, “Sir, wasn’t that your girlfriend just now? I thought she was your girlfriend.”

“Not anymore.” He replied, his voice calm, but there was an undercurrent of finality. “She was once my girlfriend.”
