?Chapter 905:
“No, I can’t. I’ve got surgery tonight,” Theo replied with a shrug.
Kaiden nced at Ellie.
“I need to handle something with Flossieter,” Ellie said.
Levy met Kaiden’s gaze and understood his meaning. “Alright, we’ll arrange another time. I’ll take off for now.”
It wasn’t until Levy departed with the attractive woman that Flossie snapped out of her daze.
Ellie turned to Theo and asked, “Who was that woman just now?”
Theo nced at Flossie and casually replied, “That’s Levy’s new girlfriend. She’s not feeling well, so she’s here for a check-up.”
Seeing the woman, Flossie had guessed her identity instantly, but hearing it confirmed felt like a knife twisting in her heart. She felt as if she were torturing herself. She knew being with Levy was impossible, yet she couldn’t move on.
“Then I’ll head out,” Ellie said to Kaiden.
Theo couldn’t help but burst outughing. Kaiden found the situation absurd and nced at Ellie as if silently asking her to repeat herself.
It took Ellie a moment to realize her actions resembled someone abruptly leaving after a fleeting intimacy.
Kaiden had skipped work and rushed to the hospital to apany Ellie for quite some time. Now that Flossie’s wound had been treated, Ellie left him alone.
Noticing the restrained smile on Theo’s face and Flossie’s reserved demeanor, Ellie pulled Kaiden aside.
“I’ll join you for dinner tonight,” she said, taking Kaiden’s hand and giving it a yful shake. “Don’t be upset.”
Kaiden’s expression grew even darker. For crying out loud! A simple dinner invitation was hardly sufficientpensation for him.

After thinking for a moment, Ellie added, “After I wrap up work, you can pick me up and I’ll treat you to dinner tonight.”
“Can you handle eating out?” Kaiden asked, his tone cool.
Ellie had be particr about food since her pregnancy. If she weren’t speaking directly to Kaiden, she might have been tempted to turn to social media for tips on how to persuade her husband.
As Ellie pondered ways to coax Kaiden, he gently ran his hand through her hair and, relenting, said, “Give me a call once you’re done with your work.”
His words implied that he woulde to get her.
“Sure,” Ellie replied happily.
Ellie decided to seek out Thomasina today for two reasons: she aimed to resolve the issue promptly, and she had learned that Thomasina was filming an advertisement nearby, making it convenient to go there.
“Are youing along?” Ellie asked Flossie when she got into the car, noticing that Flossie had no ns to return to theb.
“You’re pregnant. I can’t let you go alone. I’ve already called to sort things out at theb,” Flossie replied.
