He was never soft on his love rival. “If not for that ident back then, you wouldn’t have been there to see Ellie grow.” The ident had left Kristopher in poor health, creating a situation where he could never have a chance with Ellie.


    What Kristopher had told Ellie wasn’t entirely false. Initially, he saw her almost like a pet. But, little by little, he began to see her as something more—a conquest. He wanted to im her, to have her close indefinitely.


    Kristopher had always interpreted this as a mere desire to possess what he believed was his. However, upon reflection, he realized it was simply a disguise for love. He feared loving her, feeling unworthy of such an emotion.


    In the afternoon, Ellie received a call from Harry at Rich Bar.


    Noticing Ellie’s altered expression, Baylee asked after the call ended, “What’s the matter, El?”


    “Some obsessive fan sent threatening things to Flossie, who ended up getting hurt,” Ellie said, looking troubled.


    “Why would she be involved with a celebrity? Who is this star?”


    “Thomasina, the one Levy is dating,” Ellie replied, still looking concerned. “I’m not sure what the issue is between Flossie and Thomasina.”


    Baylee, visibly upset, muttered a curse under her breath. Seeing Ellie’s concern for Flossie, she offered, “Do you want me to go check on her?”


    “Please do,” Ellie answered.


    Ellie was tied up with unresolved matters from the car ident, so she couldn’t go herself.


    Afterward, Ellie took Baylee to the airport.


    Yet, the moment Ellie stepped out of the terminal, several reporters rushed toward her, cameras poised and ready, surrounding her in an instant.

    Hearing the reporters’ questions, Ellie remained unfazed. This wasn’t her first encounter with a media attack like this. However, the mention of the baby in her belly caught her attention.


    “What did you just say? Repeat that.”


    Immediately, Ellie’s expression hardened. The blonde reporter, undeterred, said, “Ellie, your intimidation won’t work on me!”
