Chapter 855

    ?Chapter 855:

Seeing her distress, Kaiden’s expression shifted drastically as he supported her waist to keep her upright. “Feeling sick?” he asked, concern evident in his voice as he gently wiped her mouth.

Ellie, attempting to speak, caught sight of Kaiden’s somber expression. His usualposure was reced with a mix of anger and concern, an unusual sight on him. This sh of feelings made Ellie both amused and annoyed. She quickly realized the root of his frustration.

“It’s the blood taste that’s making me sick,” she exined. It wasn’t the kiss itself but the metallic tang that stirred her stomach.

As she touched her numb lips, a sharp pain revealed a small cut. Kaiden noticed the wound on the corner of Ellie’s mouth. His irritation vanished immediately, reced by a sense of shame. “I’m sorry, Ellie.”

ncing at the tissue in his hand, Ellie chuckled and teased him, “Aren’t you the one who’s obsessed with cleanliness? Don’t you find this gross?” Kaiden gave her a look that mixed exasperation with affection.

When had he ever thought of her as gross?

To Kaiden, Ellie was the exception who could overturn all his usual habits and rules.

After she had thrown up for a bit, Ellie started to feel somewhat better. Just as she got to her feet, something caught her eye. She turned and saw a man with blonde hair watching them from the balcony across from their hotel. Caught in the act, the man gave them a thumbs-up and a cheeky smile.

Ellie was at a loss for words.

Without wasting a moment, Kaiden drew the curtains, blocking the view. The thought of their kiss being seen by someone else made Ellie’s cheeks burn with embarrassment.

Kaiden gently lifted Ellie and ced her on the sofa, then called the hotel, asking them to rece the carpet. When they learned that changing the carpet wasn’t easy, they decided to move to a different suite.

“Kaiden, Kristopher…” As soon as Ellie mentioned Kristopher’s name, Kaiden kissed her once more.

Ellie, still feeling a bit scared, quickly covered her mouth and stepped back.

“I’m bleeding from the mouth!” she eximed.

“Let’s not talk about him,” he interrupted, his voice firm.

After a brief moment, Ellie, biting her lip, agreed with a nod.

“I don’t want to hear his name or anything about him right now,” Kaiden said, locking eyes with Ellie. “Honey, please don’t upset me,” he pleaded.

It was clear that Kaiden preferred to be the one getting hurt if it meant protecting her. The fact that Kristopher was the one who ended up saving her really bothered him.

What Bolton had said failed to cause any rift between Kaiden and Ellie. However, those words did affect Ellie.

“Alright,” she agreed with a nod.

Soon after, the food was served. Ellie didn’t quite like what was served this time, but in an effort to make Kaiden happy, she tried to eat a bit. Eventually, she couldn’t keep it down and ended up spitting it out.
