Chapter 830

    Chapter 830:

Amidst tears, Carole sobbed, “I’ve lost everything. You’re all I have left! Ellie took my family, and now she’s taken you too. Is it really that hard for me to see you?”

Kaiden picked up on something crucial in her words and asked sternly, “How did youe to know that?”

    “Know… know what?”

    “About Ellie’s true identity.”

At that moment, Carole realized her slip-up.

She felt fortunate she was on the phone, hiding her expression from Kaiden.

“I figured it out on my own,” Carole scrambled for an excuse. “Katharine treated Ellie so kindly. Plus, Ellie bears a striking resemnce to Katharine’ste grandmother, and her age matches Elsie’s.”

“You’ve observed Ellie’s resemnce to Katharine’ste grandmother but never brought it up. Do you understand how much the Lambert family struggled to find Elsie, Carole?”

After ending the call, Kaiden couldn’t help but think that the Lambert family had nurtured an ungrateful woman.

Had Carole shared her suspicions earlier, the Lamberts might have reunited with Ellie much sooner.

Clutching the nket, tears streamed down Carole’s cheeks.

In a rage, she seized a vase from the bedside table and hurled it to the floor.

Why did she need to bring it up?

When she got into the Lambert family, she basically took Elsie’s ce. If the real daughter returned, then, as a recement, she would be even more worthless!

Elsie had been missing for over twenty years. Now, going by the name Ellie instead of Elsie, why did she return?

What was worse, Ellie had taken away everything that should have been hers!

Carole’s heart was filled with a newfound, intense resentment.

So, how did she figure out that Ellie was actually Elsie?

    It wasn’t merely a hunch.

A mysterious man had tipped Carole off!

Yet Carole had no clue about his identity.

Hearing the noise, the nurse dashed in, fearing for the patient’s safety. But upon entering, she was startled by Carole’s grim and menacing expression.

“Oops, it slipped. My apologies,” Carole said with a forced smile, starkly different from her earlier demeanor.

This sudden shift rmed the nurse even more, prompting her to silently clean up the shattered vase without further nces at Carole.

Once Carole noticed the nurse’s diverted gaze, her expression turned paranoid and fierce once more.

The buzz of autumn fashion week was in the air.
