    After her check-up, Ellie ran into Katharine and Daniel while Kaiden was engaged in conversation with a man in his thirties, leaving her puzzled. The four of them noticed her almost simultaneously and turned their attention toward her.


    Ellie was stunned. What was going on?


    “Oh, Miss Lambert, Mr. Lambert, how unexpected to see you here!” She greeted them with a nod and made her way towards Kaiden.


    Approaching, she noticed the strange man’s intense stare, an emotion so vivid that she couldn’t just overlook it. Yet, she had no idea who he was!


    Ellie turned to Kaiden, silently seeking assistance.


    “He is…”


    “Ellie, I’m your brother!” Glenn said before Kaiden could finish his words.


    Shocked, Ellie instinctively took a small step closer to Kaiden.


    With a reassuring smile, Kaiden took Ellie’s hand and faced Glenn defiantly.


    The Lambert siblings found themselves speechless. Ellie’s reaction left them feeling rather disappointed.


    Kaiden cast a quick look at the Lambert siblings. It seemed like they were on the verge of revealing Ellie’s true identity.


    “Why don’t we chat over coffee?” Kaiden suggested.


    Talking about such matters in a hospital just didn’t seem right.


    Plus, a doctor was due to give Kaiden an update on Ellie’s examination, so there was no need to stick around.


    In the cafe, Kaiden ordered desserts for Ellie, though she hardly felt like eating. Her mind was preupied with the term “brother” that Glenn had used earlier. Initially, Ellie had thought Glenn might be off his rocker, but learning he was the head of the Lambert family made her dismiss that wild thought.
