Chapter 824

    ?Chapter 824:

Did they suspect something back then?

In other words, they questioned her true identity.

“Ellie, I must apologize for taking your DNA sample for testing without your consent,” Katharine stated. “Your real name is Elsie Lambert.”

The results of the DNA test were indisputable, and there was no way they were trying to deceive her, or themselves, with such evidence.

Ellie had no reason to question this revtion.

    Elsie…

It sounded like a lovely name.

Seeing the mix of nervousness and embarrassment on Ellie’s face, Kaiden took her hand gently andforted her by caressing the back of her hand.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” Ellie inquired.

    The Lambert siblings exchanged nces.

Glenn exined, “We looked into your records before and noticed someone messed with your birth details. If it hadn’t been for that, we would’ve found you much earlier. We’ve been trying to figure out who did this.”

“Someone messed with my birth details?”

“That’s right,” Glenn confirmed with a nod. “We just found out yesterday. The guy who changed your info is Kristopher Wright.”

Kaiden wasn’t surprised by this revtion, considering the facts he’d already uncovered.

“Kristopher… how is that possible?” Ellie was stunned. “He’s just a bit older than I am.”

“Elsie, remember your husband began building the GT Group before he was even an adult. Being smart doesn’t depend on age.”

Ellie then remembered something Cecelia had mentioned before passing away. Cecelia had taken care of her following a young man’s orders—a man who, a decade ago, was roughly ten years old. Ellie had met Kristopher in her youth, too.

So, it was Kristopher who hid her identity, keeping her from her family all these years?

“Why… Why would he do something like that?” Ellie’s voice shook as she spoke, a mix of disappointment and fear sneaking into her heart without her noticing. She truly valued Kristopher as a friend, being grateful for his presence. After a recent phone call with him, where he advised her to stay safe, she now heard the cruel truth linking him to the suffering she had endured for years.

Glenn, with a shake of his head, replied, “I’m not sure, but he probably knows who you are.”

It couldn’t have been Kristopher who took Ellie. At that time, he was just a kid, around six or seven. He was hardly capable of such an act.

Yet, it was Kristopher who ended up deceiving her, despite being in the know! Her fingers tightened without her realizing, as Ellie bit her lip, striving to keep her emotions in check.
